jmj_203
Im not seeing the bust HH bawls over this. Glass imperfections happen, they don't make the glass but they likely have several suppliers. Completely enclosed, probably sand that didnt fully melt in the process. I wouldn't give their customer service a hard time, they are one of my fav distilleries but thats just me. Shit happens when you're buying thousands of glass bottles per day.
dSculptor
Not sure where you got the busting balls from, never busted their balls over this, just wanted to know why it took so long for a response. We actually had good communication once it started, and they are also one of my fav distilleries. I contacted them recenlty for some info on one of their brands and they were very prompt in replying. smokinjoe
I did finally get an answer.. like 3 months later..When I asked why it took so long to respond she told me she wanted to check and see if there were any other reports first. They wanted me to send them the bottle, I told them I don't think so, I want to taste this stuff, after I had finally come to the conclusion that the piece was indeed an inclusion in the glass,it appears that yours is the same color as mine also. I still have not opened this bottle as of yet. Just goes to show .. inspect your purchases! Why wouldn't you send them the bottle?
Restaurant man
Why wouldn't you send them the bottle? He said he wanted to drink it. This is what I woulda done off the bat. I would have been down to that inclusion in a couple hours. Then I woulda stared at it with one drunk eye closed and went "damn". No emails or phone calls necessary. It's just a good cheap bottle. Not work.
dSculptor
Well, while I was waiting for them to reply, from other posts on this thread I deduced that it was actually something embedded in the glass, so at that point decided it was safe to drink, however there was another issue with all of this, Binny's had refunded me the price of the bottle,so now I don't feel comfortable with opening it, I figured I would wait till the next Binny's get together and give it back to them, and he can decide what to do with it, it would make a nice curiousity piece, it's not just a little chip but a small stone. smokinjoe
So, you have the refund, and you still won't send HH the bottle back? Ya think HH may want to look at it and discuss with their glass supplier to determine the root cause of the defect, and what actions they can take in the future to prevent it from reoccurring? Now you have me asking, What the #@$ is that?
dSculptor
Well, you may be right, but technically it's Joe's bottle now @ Binny's. I should of looked at it much closer for awhile before even starting the whole inquisition, had I determined it was encased in the glass from the get go,I would be enjoying the stuff like I intended to do in the first place.Think I'll drop Joe a line and see what he would like me to do with it,if he wants it back then I'll hold it for him, but I think I have the answer, I'll pay for it again, drink the bottle and then send the empty to HH,after all it's just the bottle they want ,they would just dump the contents anyway.A win win situation all the way around,Yeh, I like that idea, sound good to you? Boulevardier
Insects love all kinds of wine. I once bought a bottle of Mad Dog (green) that came with a dead bumblebee hiding under the cap. I'm not sure if it counts if you're buying pre-owned.
