The latest Abraham Bowman release is now out at the distillery. This time around it is a Double Barrel bourbon. Its 100 proof and non-chill filtered. It was aged for a little over 6 years then put in a second newly charred barrel for an additional year.

The nose on this has a little bit of spice and whole lot of vanilla. I love smelling this one. When you first taste it you get a ton of oak and then it fades into a really nice vanilla in the middle that ends on a great smoky char note at the end. The mouthfeel is really thick and creamy. This blows away WRDO, Makers 46 and Prichard’s Double Barrel. If you like oak and vanilla this is definitely for you. This might be my favorite AB yet.

If this falls into the same price range as past AB bottlings (which is probably more than any of the examples you noted as well), and I have no reason to think otherwise, then as good as it may be they seem to be reaching a bit with what is essentially a 7yo BT bourbon for $70-$75. Some early offerings in this line were twice as old. Old may not be better but at least you can kind of understand why they would cost more.

Although it will no doubt sell. Unfortunately, including at least one to me if I see one.

It is still $69.99 but well worth it to me because of the taste. It seems a lot of things lately are younger age wise but pretty darn good in quality, such as this, Parker POH, and even Bookers 25th (although its older than the regular, its still not very old).

True enough. I have the other two you note and will probably get this as well. The Gingerbread was a bit of a let down but I did like both of the port finished versions so will likely give them another shot.

I had this on the rocks last night and it really brought out the caramel/vanilla flavors. Totally reminded me of Werther's Originals

A friend of mine bought this today. I'm gonna try to grab a taste during the NCAA games tomorrow. I love Bowmans but they're really making it hard with these young, $70 releases.
