Liquor store in Kansas City?

Hello Friends,

Can anyone here recommend a great liquor store in Kansas City MO or KS to find a wide selection of rare bourbon/scotch? Heading there in a week and would love to pick up some rare finds - or at least uncommon stuff!

I once spent half a day going through liquor stores in Kansas City, MO and didn't find anything out of the ordinary other than David Nicholson back when it was still using SW stock. Don't know how it is today but I was equally unsuccessful in St. Louis or Columbia, both of which I used to regularly travel through.

Thank you for your response. I hope there is somewhere with something decent. I've learned the hard way that it is not always advantageous to go by the names of liquor stores. I know there was one place that had "Liquor Superstore" in its name but that can oftentimes mean nothing more than they have 300 cases of Jack Daniels and a dozen other totally pedestrian drinks.

I'll still welcome any leads. And, for what it is worth, I live in Omaha, NE and we have a good but not great whiskey scene here so I suppose even things that would not be available to me in this state (Angel's Envy comes to mind) would be a welcome sight even if they are not definitively rare.

I also spent half a day in Omaha doing the same thing. Found a store located through an ad in what was then Malt Advocate magazine. It was close to a University if I recall correctly.
