KSB66
Can anyone tell me from which this distillery this comes from.
squire
JW Dant opened his first distillery in 1836 so my guess is a Dant product and with a Louisville address perhaps the J. P. Dant company but that conjecture is based on the scant info on the label as I have no idea of the date of the bottle.
squire
A similar bottle if offered at the MastersofMalt auction website stating it's from the 1970s but yours has a tax stamp and that one doesn't.
KSB66
Thanks, I thought Chuck Cowdery did an article on this one once but i can't find it on the net anymore.
KSB66
The one on MoM also has a tax stamp. The one on my bottle only says Export and a number.
squire
You're right, I didn't catch that the first time. My eyesight ain't what it was though I can still recognize a pretty girl.
squire
Ah, an export label, come to think of it the bottle does have a 70s look about it. Schenley owned the JW Dant label in the 1970s but I'm still pulling for the JP Dant distillery in Louisville, just cause.
KSB66
Got a tip and found a Glenmore timeline in which this was mentionedGlenmore introduces "Master's Rare" Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 90.9 proof and claiming "since 1836", the Dant heritage dates (UD Archives, 994.m.
squire
A Glenmore/Yellowstone connection occurred to me also, particularly due to the Louisville address, well, there you have it.So how does it taste? If it's 70s Yellowstone stuff it should be pretty good.
