mosugoji64
Looks like McKenna 10yr BIB is available on the PA site. Pricier than the gold label but worth a try if you're game.
jmj_203
Looks like McKenna 10yr BIB is available on the PA site. Pricier than the gold label but worth a try if you're game.I wasn't sure on that one. First off the state site is riddled with errors, theyre everywhere i mean awful. The McKennas listed are 2, one is McKenna 100 proof no age listed, the other says McKenna 10yr but its listed at 80proof. Now no joke errors are everywhere so both are possibly wrong. If that ten yr is actually a BiB it would explain the unreasonably high price for an 80 proofer, even if its ten years old.I'm down for being a seeker, Ill order a 3 bottle of the mckenna 100 proof from the site and see what I get. Love their stuff so far. As good as BT offerings but value priced. Edited May 19, 2014 by jmj_203
mosugoji64
Just clarify what you're ordering. The 10yr BIB is likely the higher priced bottle. Forget the 80 proof version.
JPBoston
I'd second Fox's recommendation of Fighting Cock. Basically a bib, cheap, and enjoyable. Solid choice.EW BIB is another value winner.Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
jmj_203
Thats how messed up the state ordering site is. I gathered this from searching online, as I have no experience with Mckenna its not on shelves anywhere around me. So the site lists 2 Mckennas, one is labelled Henry Mckenna Sour Mash 100 proof, the other is listed Henry Mckenna 10 yr 80 proof. I gather from researching that they have those 2 proofs backwards. The bottles I have google imaged that have the "Sour Mash", and "Kentucky's finest table whiskey" all say 80 proof. The 10 yr Mckenna's in images are the ones that are Bottled In Bond 100 proof. So they look to have those 2 flipped on the site. Have to order a qty of 3 to place an order. I can tell from the prices, $18 something for the sour mash and $33 roughly for the 10yr, that the 10 yr is priced in line with it being the 100 proof BiB. Thats how riddled with errors that site is. Major boo they did finally remove the last remnant of Old Heaven Hill 100 proof 1.75 liters this morning. Edited May 19, 2014 by jmj_203
House of Bourbon
Hey All-Moving back to my home state of CA- fell totally in love with HH BIB 6-year while in southern Ohio. Any idea where I can purchase it online?
393foureyedfox
if youre in Dayton, take a short car trip to TPS and get a few cases to take to CA with you. If youre driving back to CA, get 5 cases......
ModernThirst
I found that the old Fitz BiB is actually a pretty good sipper. It's a wheater, but a nice departure from the wheaters at buff trace.
