sob0728
I posed that question to Sku on twitter. But here is the COLA for a 90 proof single barrel offering from BT (https://www.ttbonline.gov/colasonline/viewColaDetails.do?action=publicFormDisplay&ttbid=14078001000401). I know Elmer was holding a walking stick in many recent photographs. Anyone closer to the situation have any info on this?
squire
Could be, makes sense, odd name though that doesn't convey any special meaning to me and I walk with a cane. A new single barrel from the folks that claim to be suffering a shortage. Oh well, perhaps it just extra stuff that doesn't fit in existing profiles. squire
Oh, oh, I got it. Handicap Whisky, just the thing to put a spring in your step.
ramblinman
Have to wonder what mashbill this is going to be? Have to think the BT higher corn if this isn't replacing ETL, seems odd, but something to fit between ER and CEHT?
clingman71
Founders Co Louisville, KY ?????? Does Sazerac have any Louisville connection?
Harry in WashDC
A relatively thorough online search turned up "nothing" about a Founders Company or Founder's Company in Louisville. I did find a Founder's Brewing Co. in Michigan that sells beer outside its region (like in Philadelphia). I thought it might have been a private label BT was bottling for somebody. squire
A collaboration with Brown-Forman?

It's an assumed name of Buffalo Trace (I assume this is similar to a DBA for a small business/sole proprietorship).
mbroo5880i
It is interesting for a company with well documented shortages to be contemplating a new single barrel offering.
393foureyedfox
that's gotta be the lamest, no pun intended, name for a bourbon I've seen yet.

HighInTheMtns
that's gotta be the lamest, no pun intended, name for a bourbon I've seen yet.Might not have been intended, but I laughed. I don't think this is replacing ETL or will be Mash 2... Otherwise wouldn't Age International have been the ones to file for label approval? Smithford
Have to wonder what mashbill this is going to be? Have to think the BT higher corn if this isn't replacing ETL, seems odd, but something to fit between ER and CEHT?Since the applicant's email address is @sazerac.com, that probably indicates by default that it's the higher corn recipe. An application for anything with the higher rye recipe would have to come from Age International, since they "own" that recipe, right? Probably not an ETL replacement.EDIT: Sorry High, I missed your response, which mine is now a duplicate of. Nothing to see here ...
whiskeyobsessive
I think most of the recent DBA brands from sazerac have been store brand stuff for big chain stores distilled at Barton (Jeffers Creek, Black Ridge, Two Stars, etc). Hard to imagine a new SB from Buffalo Trace given their recent supply issues.

P&MLiquorsEric
Guessing a private label for someone. Possibly a deal signed years ago with barrels just how maturing.
