This is the Northside of Indy. There are more but these are just the ones I can remember. I live about an hour South
Josh
I spent six years of my life in a town near Muncie.
bucky1
You're not going to find anything special here in the Indy area...just the usual stuff. Crown has a few FRSB store picks that are good. They have a store on the Northeast side off I-69 just outside Indy on your way toward Muncie. If you're driving...Binny's in Chicago.
mbroo5880i
I guess it depends on how much time and how adventurous you are. If you have the time and don't mind hitting downtown Indy, I would recommend Crown Liquor downtown and the new Big Red Liquor downtown. Crown has some great store selects - FRSB, Smooth Ambler 8-Year, EC12, etc. The manager of the downtown store is a whiskey guy and they have a good selection. I have not been to the Northeast side store off I-69. Big Red just opened a new store in downtown Indy (formerly Kahn's). I have not been there but they are suppose to have a decent selection. Vine & Table is in Carmel. They have an interesting bourbon selection, but if you want to pick up wine or scotch, this is the place.
flaminiom
I stopped at a Big Red near Fishers last year. Nice store. They had a cabinet with some decent stuff for sampling. Actually, if anyone knows of a good store along I-80/I-90, that'd be good to know for reference.

Mainly between north central Illinois, and north eastern Indiana. One trip to the Ann Arbor Michigan area last fall. Nothing much of note. No dusties, extremely limited, or non-existent limited releases. Plenty of what I call the usual suspects. JB, MM, WR, etc…. Good luck.
MacinJosh
For Scotch or Rye selections, you can't beat Vine & Table in Carmel. For bourbon I would suggest the downtown Crown Liquors.Have fun!
amg
The Big Red Liquors (formerly Hamilton Beverage) a couple blocks south of Vine & Table actually tends to have some of the less common stuff from time to time. I was in there last week and they still had 3 bottles of the PHC Promise of Hope on the shelf. Another good Carmel shop is Classic Sprits at 126th & Gray Rd.
