Sorry this is late, we'll run it a couple of days then take the winner. It's May, so the chose is three "M" distilleries.

Macallan? What's that? Some off-the-beaten track hipster brand nobody's ever heard of?

I voted Mannochmore since I've never tried anything from them and I like being "forced" to try something new. However, I do have some Mortlach sitting around sealed that I could always pop...

Macallan? No thanks. The CS is fine, though overpriced, but I have not cared for any other bottle of theirs I've tried and certainly can't justify paying that much.

I don't know that I have even seen a bottle of Mannochmore on the shelf here much less tried one. Is it one that the Diageo overlords release on a regular basis as an offical bottling? Or is it a core blending malt?

Seems like it shares some characteristics with Mortlach and has in the past had it's own Flora & Fauna release. And of course there was the seemingly gimmicky Loch Dhu. Anybody tried it and was that any good?

Guess I should have looked to see if any bottles where even available in my area and so far, from the web searchable stores, thats a solid no. I did not even find any with a quick search of some of my favorite out of state retailers so maybe that would not be a great choice for FWOTM.

Not to worry, looks like Mortlach won it. No real surprise there.
