Anyone notice the new OGD 80 proof label?

First thing I noticed was that the neck label is now orange (like the 100 proof) instead of gold. That used to be the easiest way to visually differentiate the bonded from the lower proof stuff, especially from a distance in a bar. The cap is still orange on the bonded and the 80 proof has a black cap, but in most bars there's going to be a pourer spout in there instead of a cap.

The second thing I noticed was the creepy, Joe Biden-esque smile they put on Basil Hayden's face. I'm used to seeing him as a stoic looking guy and I find this quite disturbing. Did they change his image on the bonded label too?

yeah, it's creepy. somehow the green background makes it creepier still.

either change the picture back to the old one......or keep the new picture and go all out and re-name it 'Old Priest'

I'm not a huge fan of low proof Old Grand Dad, but I would sure as hell buy a bottle of "Dirty Old Man". "Its the bottle you have to notify your neighbors when you buy one!"

IIRC, the label resembles one from an OGD dusty that I possess. I will post a photo when I have the opportunity.

When I first saw the new label, I thought they made old Basil look like Tommy Lee Jones.

Note to self: save at least 1 current empty 114 for decanting purposes, in case they decide to put the same pic on the 114 sometime down the road....I just can't look at that mug...
