sailor22
Spent mash has been sold to farms as livestock feed for generations - it's nothing new. This is more Templeton bullshit.
squire
And not just any old poo, special, unique poo. In fact pig poo in Iowa was unnoticed until we came along.

Brisko
Spent mash has been sold to farms as livestock feed for generations - it's nothing new. This is more Templeton bullshit.Plus it makes sense, when the farms are close to the distillery. Distillery gets rid of waste, farmers get feed. This is just weapons-grade asinine, however, since presumably they are trucking it from Indiana to Iowa. squire
Or anywhere else, nothing on the site says the hogs are being fed exclusively on spent mash, could be as little as 10% of their intake. Here's a tidbit from 30 or so years back. Moore Co., TN, a dry county at the time but home to the Jack Daniels distillery, had more feed lot livestock per acre than any comparable County in the Country. Cheap spent mash was the feed of choice. The local Baptists might not buy the whisky but they sure bought the mash.

sutton
Given that they have been raising hogs/cattle etc on spent mash for generations, don't we already know what this tastes like?
