I came across an article on the Gizmodo website/blog about bourbon. It was a pretty generic article, and sound like it may have been sponsored by Knob Creek because that was the only bourbon mentioned.

Anyways, I think this term in the article takes the cake when it comes to tasting notes. "...the bourbon is warmed as it travels through your mouth, causing the aromas to enter your nose as the process of retro-nasal olfaction takes place. This means the bourbon's nose is more apparent on your tongue than in your glass."

Anyone have any other good bourbon tasting terms like this?

It's not a bourbon tasting term per se, rather a pretentious way of saying that you're still smelling aromas after you've put the bourbon in your mouth.

I was recently treated to a taste of PoH at a local retailer (1st time in the back office) and I discerned that retro-nasal olfaction in abundance. I'm having some limited success in developing 'my bourbon guy'.
