corpse_welder
I remember reading it was making a comeback in a handful of states, including mine, but I have yet to see it and my local store knows nothing of it. As I'm sitting here drinking a glass of the 81 Rye, I really miss the 101 proof. It's just not the same with 20 proof less
jmj_203
Its available for order here, I haven't seen it on any store shelves yet. That reminds me I need to put in an order for a few bottles next pay. I think our site ordering page has it listed at roughly $33.50 per bottle. Now that being said, I can't tell you how many times I've went to order something in the last month, only to get an email that the listing is no longer available or out of stock. Don't think thats the case with this, but I wouldn't know until trying to order.
sutton
It seems to be plentiful around here (MA) ... I haven't looked for it, I still have some of the older stuff, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it in CT, NY, and NJ as well...
bourboNcigars
It surprises me how hard 101 rye is to find, I also have looked and I haveNever seen a bottle in stores for at least 2 years now
ramblinman
Big discussion on this, where people have found it, what their thoughts are, etc over in the rye section, http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?21174-WT101-Rye-Returns
KyleCBreese
I've only seen it at one store here in NJ.
jfw
I've seen it in MD We seem to get a LOT of rye up here.
Pudsky
I'll be looking for this in MN.
dementedavenger
It's not worth looking for. It pales in comparison to the previous iterations of WT 101 Rye and it belongs on shelf somewhere with Old Overholt and Jim Beam Rye. Really disappointing. k1052
I see a bunch of it sitting on shelves around here. Priced at $40-45.I'll still be reaching for the Rittenhouse instead.
DaveOfAtl
Atlanta got a few 1L bottles a couple months ago. Hasn't been regular though.
jeffrey r
I was able to secure a few 1L bottles of the new stuff. Tastes fine to me, though I don't have the older stuff to compare to. Glad to have it on the bar.
Kalessin
I picked up a 1L of the new stuff, specifically for my favorite rye manhattans. It's not as good as the previous WTR101, but when mixing, I think it's just fine.
ethangsmith
I got some special ordered through our state store in town (I live in PA, we're not mature or intelligent enough here to buy or liquor from a private establishment. We have to buy it from the state so they can protect us.) and I'm going to buck the trend here. I would agree that there is in fact a small taste difference between the new and the old, but I would certainly not say the new stuff is worse. To me, the 101 rye has that perfect balance or rye- Not so little it tastes like bourbon, but not so much it tastes like you're eating hay out of a farmer's field. It's still my favorite whiskey and I think it's going to stay that way for a long time. For me, the $34 per liter price tag is just fine.
