bourboNcigars
was driving a friend home and decided to stop at some mom and pop shop just to grab something to drink and they had 750ml size heaven hill ultra deluxe 80 proof aged 36 months for $9.99 so i picked up a bottle, how bad is this stuff and is it mostly used as a mixer? or is this a bunker buyer by the case material? squire
It's young whisky at the minimum proof so yeah, it's mainly a mixer, but it's the same whisky off the still that eventually becomes Elijah Craig, Evan Williams single barrel and Parker's Heritage. mbroo5880i
Yep, and you can tell everyone it is the same as EC12 and PHC just a "little" younger! You were just asking about less than 90 proofers and then you went and bought one. Just couldn't help yourself, could you?

Dannabis
It seems sort of sick irony to name a young 80 proofer "ultra deluxe"
wadewood
It's a bargain; lots of fake craft distillers sale bourbon (not straight bourbon) they 'made' for 3 to 4 times that price.
jmj_203
Just to make everyone feel so bad for us...What he's talking about is the ONLY heaven hill labelled bourbon available to us in Pennsylvania now, an 80 proof white label, 36 month age stated watered down "bourbon". Sure we have EC12 but thats about it. Its almost blasphemy to me to waste good oak and barrels by emptying the bourbon out after such a short aging time. Especially considering we know how good the same juice becomes if it gets another half decade of aging (HHBiB, HH 6yr 90 proof, EWSB and EC12). TunnelTiger
Actually I am starting to feel sorry for all you Pa bourbon lovers but it does make me appreciate what I have access to
deathevocation
Heaven Hill removed EWB @ 86 proof from the market here and gave us EWB @ 80 at a price increase of around 50%.Still pissed off. Didn't even have the courtesy to respond to my polite email regarding this terrible move.
