My question is how does the industry transport their bourbon from the rickhouses to the bottling site.

Totes or tanker?

By totes in a container I should think because then it can be shipped by truck or train.

Kind of depends on the distillery I suppose. Some have rickhouses and bottling plants available at the same location. Beam basically rolled barrels over to be dumped at the bottling site, at least those made and aged on the Clermont site.

So did Woodford as I recall, at least for the whiskey made at Woodford. A good portion of it is made in Louisville of course but not sure if it is aged there in Louisville and then perhaps tanked for transport to Versailles? Or is Louisville whiskey aged at the Woodford distillery before bottling as Woodford?

Wild Turkey now has a huge bottling facility on site near the distillery. Of course not all the rickhouses are right there near the distillery and bottling facility but many are.

Four Roses I think is a bit different. Don't they tank whiskey from the distillery to Cox Creek where it is both barreled and then bottled on site, probably directly from the barrel?

We did the Barton tour last month, and when we saw some BT barrels in their rickhouses we asked about how they move them. All tankers for them - the distillate comes to them in tankers; they barrel and store them, dump them, and tanker it back to BT. WT also pointed out tankers on their premise during the tour (the guide told us the hazmat code to look for so if we wanted to knock one off we would get the right one).

Yes, 4R via tank to CC.

I try to knock one off every month or two!
