Hi there,

New to the forums.

I'm a bit of a Jim Beam freak, collecting full bottles of Jim Beam with all sorts of labels from all around the world.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any good sources (besides Facebook) to source older Jim Beam bottles?

I'm based in Australia so my access to Jim Beam is very limited, but the bottles I'm chasing are regular $15 bottles from your standard store.

Some are released as Limited Edition such as Jim Beam Indianapolis, College Football, NYSE, etc. They would have been easily available 5-10 years back.

Stores still hold old stock but being so far away in Australia it's quite hard to track these down and am looking for local contacts in the USA for assistance.

If anyone could help out here that would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Squire, no, I'm looking for full bottles.

I'm generally chasing 1980's and above anyway, so full usually isn't much of an issue.

Most the the good labelled bottles kicked in around 2004 anyway, they're just harder to source from Australia.

Hmm, I sent my "Operation Homefront" 1 liter bottles to the Philippines, I guess that's the sort of thing you're seeking. Maybe the store still has a few.

I think your best bet is the decanters. All sorts, all types (ceramic, glass, etc). Concerns about lead from ceramic notwithstanding, a lot of them have aged (60-120 months) bourbon, and I have enjoyed them. You can find the Beam's Choice ones too, which are very nice examples IMHO.

That's exactly what I'm after. I have a 750ml Homefront but have been hunting the 1L version.

In terms of decanters, there are many clubs but they don't do it for me. Full bottles is my interest.

Was in a Virginia ABC store yesterday. They had a JBW display with what looked like liter bottles with red, white, and blue all over the labels. I was focused on my search and rescue mission further back in the store (JBB needed replenishing at home) so I paid no attention to its details. Was that them?

Hi Harry, is it possible for you to take a quick photo for me? The bottles I can think of that are blue/red/white are the Homefront bottles. Thanks for commenting.

Hi MauiSon or Harry in WashDC, I was wondering if you had any luck finding out what those bottles were? or getting any pics of the 1L Homefront?

Also, I was wondering if anyone else was able to assist here?

With so much exposure to Bourbon it'd be great if someone could assist from the USA.

Thank you.

.. Greg

Haven't had a chance to get back to that VA ABC store. Still "negotiating" with my wife over whether I can buy some McKenzie (aka Finger Lakes Distillers) to my stash. Since I already ordered it from a WashDC store, I hope she says "yes". In the meantime, I'm not buying other stuff - at least until there's more room in my car trunk.

No luck finding more here, sorry. I only bought in the first place because it went on sale ($12.99/liter) and JBW sales are rare here. I did see most of the flavored JB variations . . .

Well, not all of it. Just the couple bottles I (a) can't smuggle into the house or (B) promised I wouldn't buy or © forgot about.

I keep a bottle in the trunk though not for any sinister purpose - it's known as the emergency bottle.

Nothing wrong with Old Sweat Sox BIB, either. Is why that flask is curved.

Now, back to the thread & the OP's Q of me - the Virginia ABC store I passed on Sunday AM had JB Operation Homefront 1.75Ls in a display facing the door. Don't know the price. The JB website says this is the sixth year they've supported OH. It's a nationwide program so I'd think these are available nationwide.
