Phil T
That's awesome! Looks like it is $6.50 more than we pay for it in Kentucky. Travelling across country is expensive!
tarheel
Picked this up on my trip to KY two years ago and cracked it open this week. I agree with everyone here that it might be the best value bourbon around. It certainly is for me. It definitely has the HH character. I found it pretty close to EC12 without the coconut note. Just amazing for the money. When I compare the value to the scotch I drink it's just hilarious. Highly recommended. Too bad we don't have it here in NC. Definitely will pick up a bunch on the next trip.
lakegz
How does this compare to the Evan Williams BIB? I'm currently loving that one these days.
mosugoji64
If you like EWBIB you'll like this one as well. It's like the more refined big brother. Similar but more balanced.

ChainWhip
That's awesome! Looks like it is $6.50 more than we pay for it in Kentucky. Travelling across country is expensive! We can't compare to our brethren from down under, but we generally see similar %-age increases across the board here. Add in 20.5% sales tax + $3.77 ($2.83/750ml) liter tax and that bottle is $25.72 out the door.

suntour
Need this in my life. Love the hh bonds, particularly gold and mckenna and I could imagine this being about halfway between. Since it exists in the pac nw perhaps it's lurking somewhere in Oregon. Anyone seen the new label or have a pic of it?

I dont see how to pull up pics or more info on what the product is though. In your links, click on the little "Printable Version" link at the upper right. That takes you to the info with all the label photos.
393foureyedfox
thanks, flahuteit still says 6 years old.....wonder why the label change. the old label looked better, and didnt have the cheesy 'history' of that bourbon written on the label either.also, it makes me wonder......with new labels for the NAS 80 proofer and 6 year 100 proofer, is the 6 year 90 proofer being left alone, or is it planned on being axed? unclebunk
+1 ... my favorite during the summer while grilling. Also do this with OGD BiB, Russell's Reserve or WT101 ... had all three next to each other down the shore last year, but the HH hit the bin the quickest!I'm with you on the HH BIB as my "go to" bourbon when I'm grilling/smoking meats, with JTS Brown BIB also getting the call when it's available to me. Around here, HH BIB is even nearly half the price of the JTS Brown which makes it extraordinarily attractive at $10.99 a bottle.

ramblinman
So I guess with TPS shutting down its shipping there aren't any shippers left with a supply of this?If anyone knows a smaller shop that would ship me a case I'd love a PM.
Phil T
is the 6 year 90 proofer being left alone, or is it planned on being axed? There is no evidence of either right now. But if the extra cost of the white is going to set you back, I can send you some singles. You know, just a friendly loan..

You know, just a friendly loan..:shocked:nah, theyre both readily available here, and cheap. SOmetimes I prefer the white BIB, sometimes the green 90 6 year. Just seeing new labels for the 80 and 100 proof but not the 90 proof made me suspicious. At $100 a case here, Id grab a few cases if the suspicion were true. I agree that they should leave well enough (and awesome) alone, but I'm not surprised that they'd try to spruce up the HH BiB label, either. Jackinbox
I had never seen this on the shelf before in WA state - I finally spotted it at a random grocery store the other day here and it grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go. In any event, I plan on doing a SBS with OE7-101 in the near future. The comments made by Bernie Lubbers about it being sold only in KY and IN were from the Bourbon Trail Explorers podcast from about a year and a half ago, so it's good to see they are expanding distribution. Now if we could just get Larceny in IN.........
JPBoston
Jealous. As a big fan of EWB (given its tier), EW BIB was a bit of a letdown when it arrived this year. I bet the year or two of extra age really helps round out the character. How does the HH 6 bib compare to Fighting Cock?Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
Auracom
Trying to see if any of this is available by my sister in Bloomington, IN. Worst case - I'll ask a friend in Louisville if he can grab a few for me and send them my way. Always in search of the value pours!

393foureyedfox
How does the HH 6 bib compare to Fighting Cock?to me (subjectively), FC seems a lot hotter than the 3 proof points difference would indicate, and a bit more spicy. Neither would disappoint, though

EWBIB doesn't really do it for me, though I like OHHBIB, which is perhaps even a little rougher around the edges. Tastes older and more complex to me though. Definitely have to get my dad on the HH 6 BIB train, especially since he lives in Indiana and likes uh, how do I put it, value pours.
Dannabis
I'm hoping to pick some of these up in Kentucky when I pass through there, probably next week while moving. Also want to find and acquire all the other HH BIBs available in KY. VeryOldBatavia
So does anyone know what I have here? HHBIB, but with no age statement. Are they dropping the age statement? Or maybe the middle age stated label just doesn't fit on the 1.75's?
