Good to know that HH6YO is not available in GA. I had people scouting it out, but the closest that could be found was EW BIB, Dant, and Mellow Corn.

Are there any good liquor on I75 Northbound between the KY state line and Berea? I have some relatives in the Berea area and some family members do the Mid Ga to Berea run a few times a year.

Cheers!

Thanks for the info Lepi...pretty much what I've read and heard also. Definitely not discontinued, just a shift in distribution?

That area is a dry, void bourbon wasteland.

Richmond, to the north of Berea, is a wet college town.

Hey Phil, I had one retailer that was my go to place to get it, and one day recently I went and he was out of it. He tried to order more but his distributor said it was being discontinued. He called his other store for me and they had two bottles left. I picked up one. That was about 4 weeks ago. I asked another retailer in NKY if they could order it, and they checked with their distributor who said it had been discontinued. I contacted HH to ask if it was, in fact, discontinued and instead of answering my question, they gave me a list of places to buy it in the area. I checked all of those places and they no longer had it. I follwed up to HH's response asking if again if it was discontinued and never got a response. Others on this thread have said that it is being restocked in their area. Not sure if it is a distributor thing or if HH is cutting off NKY. I'm not sure how those things work.

pretty much what I said a few pages back..... It got scarce in Louisville, so I emailed HH. I got no response, then I emailed again. I put the response a few pages back, but basically they said it was not being discontinued but was just hard to keep up these days with the increased demand. I wasnt sure it they were being totally honest, so I took one of my days off and scouted all over louisville, buying most every one I could find, coming back with about two cases, which isnt a lot for a bourbon hub like Louisville. I was also alarmed that TPS went from listing it as 'out of stock' for a month, to just removing it altogether from their site permanently. Since then, I have seen several Louisville stores and pharmacies restock the shelves with the new label HH6BIB, which still says 6 years, but the label is new with no shoulder band anymore. The price is still the same though, so at least HH isnt playing the BT game. The new label makes it actually look like a bottom shelf bottle though, sad to say.

while clearing shelves of it in September, a local Kroger had the biggest supply of it, and there was a distributor rep there while I was doing it. He said, "you like those, huh?", I replied that I did, then he said, "those are being discontinued, you know". I told him that Id heard the rumor, and was playing it safe.

who knows what the truth it, but with HH restocking shelves with having made the effort to re-do the label, I am inclined to believe that HH has no intention of discontinuing it. That said, I will continue to keep two cases of it at all times....just in case

I think NKY is drying up for the time being. After my normal places said they could not longer order it, I called a Kroger liquor store. They said they can no longer order it either. I had seen it there in the past. They weren't sure if it was discontinued in this area or what. On a brighter note, I stopped by my normal place where I used to get HH6BIB. It has been empty from the shelves for the past few weeks, but when I got there, they had one more on the shelf. I asked about where it had come from, and he said he had found it buried under the counter. It looked like it had leaked a bit, as the fill level was slightly off. I pointed this out and he knocked $2 off of a $10 bourbon!

the fact that they went to the effort to create a new label for it (though cheesy) insinuates to me that they have no short term plans to drop it from production.I just figure the old label stockpile was depleted by the time the new one was bottled and labeled, as once I began seeing the new label in Louisville, I began seeing it a LOT. A few stores either decided to not bother with it any more, or were convinced it was gone and dropped it from inventory themselves. regardless, it is currently back in stock at most places here that used to carry it, and at the same price point.

until you see me buying multiple cases again, I think it is okay to relax and enjoy our $30 whiskey in a $10 bottle.

I had been buying it in KY. Recently I have seen it in Indy and picked up a few over the last few months. Ordered a case from my go to retailer and picked it up today. What does this new label look like?

this is the old label, with the 'charcoal filtered 6 years old mild and mellow" shoulder tag. basically, the new one has the same main label, no shoulder tag, and a new top label that says '6 years old on it"

Mine are all the new label, no shoulder tag. I started buying it last spring and all of the bottles have been without the shoulder tags...still one of my favorites and almost a daily pour. Yum!

Counting down the days until I get to try this ...

Some search for Pappy, some search for BIB.

Come up to Seattle and I'll show you where to go. (For the HH, not the Pappy).

I call you a true bourbon fan, not a poser. The quality of the recent bottling is as good as ever; less of the eucalyptus, and more of a black cherry note.

Haven't had the opportunity to try the BIB but I realized I had a few bottles of 90 proof in the cabinet and opened one tonight. Not much from the nose but the finish is fantastic for a.lower proof

Was there a label change? Got a bottle yesterday without the 6 yr label (still days it on the neck) and slightly different design.

(New purchase on the left)

Yes. Read back through the past couple of pages as it was discussed pretty thoroughly. Fox is all over it.

HH6/90 apparently just got another new label. well, the label is the same but......first they just did away with the shoulder tag that said 6 years old and left it with just the main label and the top/neck label. Now, the shoulder label is still gone, but it got a new neck/top label with the red 6 block on it again.

Gotta love HH for keeping $9 and $10 6 year age stated bourbons on the bottom shelf!

And Yellowstone in that same pic too. That is a novelty. I have not seen that before, though knew it theoretically still existed.

yellowstone is a common bottom shelfer here. Ive never tried it though due to what Ive read about it, and well.....what is sitting next to it!

New label is on the left.

Yep, I hear ya. Have never seen either label where I live. My stores say that they just can't get it.

Had my first pour of this today. Very similar to the 90 with slightly more heat and a longer finish. Glad I loaded up this week
