Anyone got their eye on a special bottle, or plan to treat yourself to a celebratory pour?

Been looking at a bottle of Booker's 25th anniversary, amoung others. I just love barrelproof bourbon, even if it's from Jim beam

While not a father, I plan on celebrating with some worthy pours (maybe some WLW).

I'll be a father in November, god willing, but my attention this weekend is going to be in LeMans, France. It's that time of year again, 24 hours of LeMans! Woohoo! Maybe I'll have the old man down, hook up a few TVs and get the egg going.

Similar outline as petrel800 but different details. I'll be in the diaper club in December if all goes well, but my attention will be on the college world series this weekend. Hook 'em.

I plan a trip to the Willett GS in search of more of their 11 yr WFE.

Fathers Day isn't until September here, but I've already got a nice Makers Mark barrel head sitting in it's box in the garage as my gift. I'm not allowed to hang it until then, so other than a quick inspection to be sure it shipped ok, I won't see it again until then. If the family want to buy me a bottle, I always suggest Buffalo Trace, Makers or Blantons as options.

I swear to god I didn't plan this, but my two boys are named Finnegan and Leopold. Finnegans is an 8 year blend or single malt irish distilled by Cooley and Leopold Bros make a Maryland style ryeand and American small batch whiskey. I'll be having some of both.

Not a father. However, I plan on giving my father a bottle of a Knob Creek Single Barrel selection I participated in nearly 2 years ago.

Now that is a thoughtful gift.

I hope your Dad appreciates the monumental task associated with you choosing a barrel for such a bottling.

It was a barrel pick for a store I work at. This was like 2 years ago and there are still a few left on the shelf.

He has shown an interest in bourbon lately. Primarily he's a wine drinker but occasionally he will drink a small pour of good bourbon.

Right on brother!! I'll be filling my early-gifted new decanter etched with "I married a great man. He turned into a great father. Happy Father's Day 2014!" with something special and watching the 'Horns! I may not agree with the etching but BTHO UC Irvine!!

Mine was GREAT! How was yours, flahute???

I could say how much I was surprised to be reminded what a wonderful pour George is.... BUT I'M NOT!!!!

I always knew! I followed GTS up with a small pour of a barrel proof Binny's pick of OBSK...

Also, nice... but no GTS. Not sure what Father's Day pour I'll try... Maybe William Larue Weller?

Never a disappointment.

I doubt I'll have any time to enjoy something special myself, toddler running around and making the trip to see my dad/grandad and then another for the father in law.

Couple of hours drive each way, but worth it. Probably not a lot of opportunities left to have four generations together.

Maybe after everything calms down Sunday night I'll just pour a tall glass of OGD114 and take it all in.

New dad here. No one else around me is really into bourbon. I will crack a 2000 EWSB on Sunday just for me.

I am a fan of diesel powered vehicles in general and love seeing Audi dominate this race with it's diesel powered racing machines.

Cheers to that!

I will be spending my Sunday with my kids at Disneyland. I'm going to have to pack a flask just to survive...any pour will do.

Going to be a good race this year, Toyota has dominated the WEC this year and Porsche returns this year as well.

Have fun with the mouse!

Fantastic! I was just saying over in the "what are you drinking today?" thread how my palate can change from day to day making some pours taste great some days and then the very next day make me question my judgement with the very same pour. The thing about old George is that it totally works for me every single time no matter what my palate is up to. This is the bourbon that sent me down this road to geekdom and to this day it's still my favorite.

Yeah, for me too. Hard to beat the over-the-top-aroma-and-flavor-bomb that we know and love as 'Old George'. I do have to say GTS wasn't my 'gateway'; but certainly opened my eyes to the possibility that some really huge stuff was 'out there' and worth the sums being asked. No looking back, now!

Wife and I are going through a cleanse right now so Father's Day will be just water, will have to the next week for a good pour.

Best regards, Tony
