I notice that alot of my bourbon bottles come with little booklets on an elastic string. Some have explanations of the bourbon or other details.

Does anyone have a thought as to how to display or preserve these things? It seems like there should be something to do with them to remember the bottles we have loved and lost.

Wonder if Hobby Lobby or Michael's has any Bourbon themed items in the Scrapbooking section?

I kind of like these dorky things even if they're usually pretty bereft of actual information.

I've noticed many people keep them as well, see them on old Old Weller and Fitz bottles and the like.

Four Roses single barrel has to take the cake for the oddest one: here you go bourbon drinker, enjoy this thing that looks sort of like a wristband you'd get out of a 25-cent dispenser when you were 12, inscribed with "Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey" on it, in case you forgot.

The neck hangers are mostly fluff, and not regulated, as far as I know; so the info (if you can call it that) contained therein is highly questionable. That said, I do keep many of mine... all hanging on the same tall bottle on the top shelf of my storage area... not sure why I kept 'em; but there they are on a bottle (currently) of William Larue Weller.

I keep them in my nail pile slot and shuffle them when I go through the mail slot until I decide to throw them out. Then, I do the same thing with the next one I get. I did carry one of the fat 4R ones that had all the recipes on it for awhile but found I never looked at it before I bought every stray recipe bottle I ran across. Don't know where it went (but I DO know where the 4RSBs went).

Maybe an old 8.5X11 slide storage sheet would work - acid-free and about the right sized slots.

[Edit: that's MAIL pile, not nail pile]

I used to flip them on Bourbon Exchange for 10x retail. Now I just toss 'em.
