I am going to be in St. Louis the last weekend of this month, well St. Charles actually I think. If anyone is familiar with the area, let me know some decent bourbon bars, and liquor stores to check out. Thanks.

Randalls is solid. Lukas Liquor is pretty similar. The Wine and Cheese Place has a lot of really nice stuff but mostly in their Clayton store. They do however have a really nice OWA store select barrel that's in all of their stores.

For whisk(e)y, the Gamlin Whiskey House is really nice. Closer to St. Charles is Annie Gunns, but you will not get out of there cheap.

In St. Charles proper, Friar Tucks is a decent place. There are some small shops around St. Charles that can have some surprising bottles.

Thanks Ravensfire and Proof and age! I will check out the places you mentioned. I'll also try to find some free time to browse some other stores around St.Charles.

Is there any Weller 12 available anywhere near St. Louis? I know, I know, but I do live in MN, not a chance to get it around here.

Ok, we are heading to this area this month.

I know Taste was mentioned for cocktails I have heard their food is good as well? - http://tastebarstl.com/

Also how about Small Batch for drinks and food, the all vegetarian menu looks suprisingly tasty to me a meat type guy? - http://smallbatchstl.com/

Best regards, Tony

The closest Randall's to St. Charles (I think) is the store on Manchester, which is in either Ballwin or Town and Country (those west county suburbs blend together). Lukas Liquor is also quite good and a bit further out, so it'd be closer than Randall's.

I was in the Randall's store a couple months ago and picked up a solid bottle EWSB'03 and a bottle of EC12. They also had some FR Single Barrels on hand along with Old Forester Single Barrel. I'm kicking myself for not picking up a bottle of those. Good prices.

I'll echo the sentiment that Taste is excellent for quality cocktails and appetizers. I'm not a "cocktail" guy at all, but once in a while, a cocktail done right is a lot of fun. Taste does it right. It is also in a fun/lively area of the Central West End of St. Louis, if you venture down there.
