Long day followed by a long workout, and a big meal. I needed something robust and with character to round out the day.

KCSB fit the bill. I'm another one that was baited into trying the single barrel. This is definitely something I plan to keep on hand. Its not the most interesting bourbon in the world - its Knob Creek. But its a big and powerful bourbon, and the Single Barrel is especially approachable. Again, $30 for 120 proof of 9 year old whiskey is just great.

HHBIB last night after the kiddos went to bed. It was a lot more corn heavy last night than I usually get off the bottle. I'm trying to remember what I had before that so I know what put the whammy on my taste buds.

ECBP-batch #whogivesadamnitsallgood. And yes I just hashtagged on SB. And yes they are all good especially the one I have in my glass right now.

I so badly wish we had a "like" button for posts. No truer hash has ever been tagged, if you ask me.

Hit the hot tub after a workout last night. Don't usually drink on Mondays and Tuesdays, but I had an unopened Town Branch sitting there and thought I'd give it a try while I soaked. Had it once before, on a distillery tour more than a year ago, and was fairly unimpressed, but grabbed a bottle recently primarily because I rarely see it around here and thought I would give it another chance.

Not too sweet, not too spicy, fairly inoffensive, but also bland. Don't see myself buying another one. On the plus side, when I had about an ounce left (I had a heavy hand while pouring) I added an equal amount from a solera bottle I had been vatting and the resulting blend was actually quite excellent.

This is actually brilliant, think of the bourbon confusion we can cause the lurkers . . .

Tonight I'm having some of my favorite from the Parker's Antique Collection . . . George T Weller Blend of Mashbills. Tasty stuff.

I just saw this...well played

Started summer with rye's (Ritt, High West, BabySaz, Templeton, Bulleit, Mitcher's and Dickel) and an EWSB2001. Then messed with a OGDBiB, WT101, and KCSB kick. Recently had Four RosesSmB and OFBB for the first time, both were great. Summer has been sample heavy and it's not over yet. On to Louisville to visit the fam, plenty of sips ahead.

Atta Boy Oscar!

As for me, it's a BTAC night. Started off with a pour of 08 ER17, then moved on to some 07 WLW. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :yum:

Shortened work week for me - PTO on Friday. So at noon today I was technically past hump day and decided to pour VOB BIB age-stated. Then 4R PS OESQ. Then more 4R PS OESQ. Then I seriously considered some ECBP but decided I should probably get back to work.

Cracked open my first bottle of KCSB. All the highlights of regular KC with a barrel-proof kick in the teeth. Love it

either KC or KCSB, you cant go wrong with either. plus, KC is something you can always count on seeing behind the bar when at a nice dinner, if nothing else.

Great point. When I'm out and I ask "what kind of bourbon do you have?" and get an "ummmm" from the server, I just order Knob Creek. Mainstream and delicious

At the Prairie Club in NE. Played 36 yesterday and 36 today. The Sand Hills are incredible. Having some bookers to close out the day.

Had some 17yo Willet private selection (a bar here in Houston, Poison Girl), followed by some Elijah Craig barrel proof. Great stuff.

A pour of OO, which made me regret buying it, followed by a pour of EWBiB, which has an alluring nose of flowers and corn and a solid finish.

Been away for a few days. My Grandmother passed away. (She introduced me to Hot toddies as a child).

Came home last night and raised a glass of Booker's 25th to her.

tonight, it's ETL Commemorative, even though she was only 92.

Sounds like a great lady and at 92 sounds like she lived a full life. My condolences.
