I would suggest that you try some older stuff or a good single barrel, but I get the impression you're not really a wheater kind of guy.

Had some ER10 last night while watching an old college teammate pitch for the O's.

Opened a Booker's last night, punching a pretty good lick. It was not so strong I couldn't drink it neat but you sure don't gulp it down, not that I do that anyway. I tried the second pour with a little water but it made it too thin. Think I will keep it neat and just slow and easy.

Finished a bottle of FRSmB while watching South Park. Somehow they fit together. I have another but think I'll switch to BT - Paddy may be on to something.

Harry, It worked so well that I'm back on it again this evening.

I opened this bottle for the hell of it. Sipping some of it over ice at the moment.

Kinda glad I opened it as it's not as good as I remember to be honest. A little hot, thin and one-dimensional. It's not necessarily bad I just think the recent bottle of standard Knob Creek I had was better.

Opened the local stores RRSBSB selection. I guess if I wanted to get acronym crazy this one would be the DBHRRSBSB.

Has a very nice nose on it. Haven't gotten around to having a sip yet.

trying the old KY Tavern bonded again tonight. Not bad by any means, but the second bottle I got will just stay unopened on the dusty shelf

Finally getting a chance to sit down and enjoy a bourbon after last night. Maybe the long version will show up at the gazebo but I'll stick to the short version here.

Yesterday we were coming back from dropping our daughter off in Indianapolis to spend a week with her grandparents and when we had gotten all the way back to Detroit, we got caught in the middle of a flood. We were only a mile from home when we finally came to a patch of water that was too deep even for the crossover vehicle we were driving. We pulled off into a parking lot and waited and watched as at least a dozen cars tried to make it through that area and stalled out. Here's what that looked like:

We took some time to get ourselves together and then headed back and managed to get to a parking lot in front of a strip mall. We got some soup and then waited for another three hours in our car, not knowing if we'd have to sleep there or not. Traffic eventually started moving on the E-W street so we managed to crawl through another marginal pool of water and then we were able to get home after dropping off a new friend at her apartment.

We had left Indianapolis at 10 AM that morning and finally made it back to our house in Royal Oak at half past midnight. Luckily there was no damage at our house but all of our neighbors had flooded basements. I was all adrenaline while it was going on, but now that I've had some chance to settle in, I'm feeling really exhausted and a little shaky. So I think I've earned this pour of GTS.

I hope our other Metro Detroit members are doing ok and didn't have much in the way of damage.

Saw the pictures on last nights news, glad to know you were ok and I too hope all SB members were as lucky. Sounds like you earned that GTS!

That looks like Houston after any heavy rain.

Still drinking old faithful. Great stuff. Chewy and rich.

First day of school for my youngest (HS sophomore) and moved my oldest back into her dorm for her sophomore year of undergrad = a long, somewhat emotional but also satisfying day.

So, now I'm working my way through two fat fingers of Rare Breed to celebrate the fact that I got over the "hump".

had some WFE 8 year 122 proof while grilling habanero BBQ ribs. the WFE is growing on me....by the time it's gone, I'll start really liking it.

Devil's Cut. Not my favorite of all time, basically a young oak bomb, but plenty good enough for a normal Wednesday night.
