Thanks, James, um, Restaurant Man!

That is very cool that some folks here get together. Most of the Fora I visit have a world-wide membership so there are few opportunities to meet others.

I have always been told that in order to be clear that one is joking one should use emoticons or use a parenthetical element. The meanness I was referring to on other Fora would never be mistaken for friendly joshing.

And I certainly understand using abbreviations when a thread is specifically about one or two bottles. It is when a poster brings five or six additional whiskies into play (with abbreviations) that have not yet been discussed...that is when it becomes confusing (especially to those that are relatively new to the "sport.")

To be fair there's quite a few who have made the trip at one time or another. Scott (Hightower) from Australia, Koji from Japan, Steffen (Macdeffe) from Europe, Gary's friend Gary from Canada to name a few.

Besides, all roads lead to Kentucky anyway.

I'm all about the Get Together aka GTG

I've hosted them with the watch guys in Chicago and will probably host a whiskey one as well.

Can do a similar event where each guy brings a bottle, we meet at a cigar shop, and everyone shares!

Interesting that you replied with a real picture of yourself...I used to be on another forum (sports related) where there was a thread called "show yourself" or something like that. You were asked to post a picture of yourself and it was really interesting to see. Everyone had fun with it

Larry Johnson of NBA Charlotte Hornets fame was from Tyler, Texas. Always thought it was cool for that and another obvious reason! :D

About Four Roses rickhouses:

Four Roses has 20 single story rack warehouses, each warehouse covers nearly one acre of land and is divided into 2 halves (north/south or east/west.) There are 90 rick locations on each side of a warehouse (45 on each side of the aisle) and barrels are racked 6 tiers high in each rick location. For example, “2R” = the second tier and 18 deep into the rick.

I'm not quite picturing the layout. Could someone draw a diagram of one of these? Is the aisle in the center and does the lettering go A to Z from the aisle outward (are any letters skipped)? Are even ricks on one side and odd on the other or do they run 1 - 45 on one side and 46 - 90 on the other?

Okay, so I see two road entries on the side of each building. I assume those entries designate one end of each center aisle (1 for each directional half). That explains a part of the layout - good find! Kinda funny how one has a white roof (I wonder which it is).
