In the Willett 2 Year Rye thread, squire posted the following:

I applaud the idea of blending different mashbills in whatever proportion works best and wish more of the producers would do that. I don't buy that a single mashbill makes for the best whisky from every barrel all the time.

While I do like single barrel picks, I wholeheartedly agree that blends of straight bourbons and ryes can produce amazing results. Obviously, many of us experiment with different self blends and vattings (e.g. SB Blend, bourbon/rye, etc.).

However, it got me to thinking about producers who do the same thing (blend different mashbills) as product. I can think of several. I have not tried all of them but those I have tried have been really good to excellent.

* Four Roses Small Batch and Yellow Label, plus their non-US offered products

* High West Rendezvous Rye, Double Rye, Bouyre, Son of Bouyre, Campfire, American Prairie

* Wild Turkey Forgiven

* Jefferson's Chef Collaboration

Are there others? I am talking about blending straight whiskeys of different mashbills together.

Noah's Mill is a blend of three different bourbon mashbills including a small amount of wheated bourbon. I learned this on the Willett tour last week.

Corner Creek supposedly does this. But in their case, with only limited success (IMO).

Well maybe that what was in it during the batch they bottled last week.
