The breakdown for this is pretty much what I assumed it would be. The fruitier notes in the O come off better with the E bill than with the B bill, so no surprise that it's the leader in the OES? half. A year ago I probably would have said OBSK, but I've had too many O, F, and Q that were just great to believe one recipe is better than any other.

Exactly, no way to pick a favorite. This is poll is really impossible since there are fantastic barrels out there for all 10 recipes. Its more about finding a great barrel than which recipe it is. When we did a blind tasting of all 10 barrels I went in thinking I would for sure have a K as a favorite, and Wainright was convinced we would pick and F, we ended up with OBSV and OBSQ. With that being said I voted OBSV because thats my favorite bottle I have open right now.

I know there are 10 recipes and I have 10 fingers but it took both hands, one foot and miscellaneous body parts to count the number of bottles on that bar.

I have four so far.....OESO, OBSK, OBSO and OBSF they are all fantastic and all very different from one another. If I had to pick id have to say its very close between the OESO and OBSK....but again you cant go wrong with any of them.

I currently have 8 of the 10. Some are duplicated.

My fave is always OBSK, at barrel proof. That can sometimes change when diluted, but not usually.

I have a bottle of OESF that was hand picked by Jim Rutledge for Big Red Liquors and it is in last place on this poll.

It will be years before I have lived with several bottles of each recipe in order to consider myself ready to answer such a poll as this.

Exactly and even then it will be tough.

I am big on OBSK as well.  I first tried it straight from the barrel at Bourbon Affair two years ago, and have loved it ever since.  Maybe my opinion was slanted by that experience, buy I like the spice and nose that recipe provides.

I have 5 of the 10 bottles right now and have come across a store that has a few of the ones I'm missing.  So far, I've paid very decent prices if not simply msrp for what I have.  These bottles that I'm looking to add to the collection are a bit more but not outrageous.  I'm trying to decide if I should jump on them now or be patient and try to find them at a better price.

Are there certain recipes that are notorious for being hard to find?  If so i would definitely jump on it.  Also, are there recipes that are typically priced higher than others?  Thanks

There are no recipes that are priced higher than others by rule. (Though I'd never put it past certain stores, the ones known for gouging, to put a higher price on a more desirable recipe). Thing is though, there's no consensus on what is the most desirable recipe. (SB poll notwithstanding as we are but a small segment of bourbonia at large.)

What I can tell you is that prices are going nowhere but up so if you see a recipe now and it's in the normal range of pricing, you should jump on it. You should also know that the recipes available to you now might not be next month or next year. So if the ones available now are the ones you need, you should go for it unless the prices are outrageous.

Unless you have regular access to the gift shop, access to a wide variety of recipes is fleeting so get them while the getting is good.

Not quite two years since I originally voted OBSK, but with some extra time and knowledge I would change my vote now to OESQ. Every sample I've had from several different barrels has been astounding. OBSV is the only other recipe that seems as consistent, but not quite as decadent, as the lower rye Q.
