The Pappy craze probably will continue as long as large numbers of new people keep coming to the bourbon enthusiasm because, inevitably, there are among the newbies always a few people who want to cut to the chase. "What's the best bourbon?" That's all they want to know. And as long as people keep answering that question "Pappy Van Winkle," it will continue.

That plus everyone having $230 (and being willing) to spend on a bottle of bourbon in the midst of an historic credit bubble.

Tot, you seem to have an answer for everything. Maybe we should all just quit posting and you can look in your crystal ball and save us all some time.

im all for continuing the myth that Pappy is the best and should be pursued. It keeps the less informed away from the realistically priced good stuff

When one has history on their side...their usually on the side of truth..."waiter what vintages of Chateau Marguax...oh just Opus One...okay".

BMR. Sheeeeesh. Now maybe some of y'all will understand why I started the "All Things Pappy" thread. We don't need numerous threads about basically the same subject matter, especially when that subject always seems to escalate into much more than just a discussion.

FWIW, BMR is short for "bitch-moan-rag", which is exactly what's happening here, and in the other Pappy threads. Let's get back on topic, and tone it down a bit please.

Thanks for the clarification Joe (I thought BMR stood for bite my rump:grin:)!
