I've got a bottle of JPS21 from last year, batch 7 that is 94 proof.

I've read reviews of the same release (2013) batch 6, that are the same proof.

I've run across some bottles in a local store (been sitting there awhile), that are batch 6, but only 86 proof.

Anyone know what year these might be from, or know what bottle markings to look for to determine the release date?

When it comes to Jefferson about the only thing I find that you can be really sure of is that you can't be really sure of anything when it comes to Jefferson.

A shame because they do sometimes bottle interesting whiskey. But it is tough for me to want to support them any more with so many good options that I do have some knowledge about before I buy.

Yep they tend to be an enigma, shrouded in a mystery... coated with BS.

I do really like the 94 proof bottles I've tasted. (my personal bottle is still unopened.
