jonhalter
FL seemed to be the land of Weller 2.0. Went to the major chain to grab a bottle, and its gone. No longer on the site either. Im going to hit a few stores tomorrow to find leftovers. A month ago there were 6 750's and 4 or 5 handles of W12 and OWA at my local. Now its gone. Dont want to panic anyone, but if you are running low, it wouldnt be a bad thing to grab one just in case.
393foureyedfox
this only furthers the BT "shortages"......I say as I have a sneaky feeling theres something going on with HH6BIB supplies and plot a multi case buy.

The Black Tot
Maybe that means we're about to get flooded with ETL/RHF instead.Always a silver lining somewhere
smknjoe
· Hidden Hidden Jon, you may have just hit a dry spot. I've said before that I can get a case of Weller 12 at 200 stores any time I want, but on the same note there are another 150 that don't have it in stock right at this moment. Anything that I really enjoy I buy by the case anyway. That's how I've ridden out the local ETL shortage. Link to comment

smknjoe
...well, that, and having other good bourbon to hold me over...
flahute
^^^^^this.I panicked a bit when ETL first went dry here. I didn't really notice, though, because there were so many other good bourbons to hold me over. Then, when it was restocked, I knee jerk reacted and quickly bought three to make sure I had some. And then?.......I'm still enjoying other bourbons and haven't cracked the ETL yet, and, they are still sitting on the shelves.Go figure.
The Black Tot
yeah, I can't freak out when I still have a "too many open bottles" "problem"
dcbt
Yea, as smknjoe said, Weller 12 is still all around here. A fun challenge would be to see how many bottles of Weller 12 a Texan could come home with after a full 11-hour Saturday shopping around (assuming no space constraints). Several hundred fifths and handles for sure, maybe even close to 1000.Having said that, I was at Total Wine yesterday and I saw they are out of OWA with the next estimated shipment coming in October. That did seem a bit odd to me.
jonhalter
As I said, FL stores didnt have bottles in the 100's but it was always there. I remember seeing it a month ago and quite a bit. Now there is no W12 or OWA in my usual stores Im sure Ill be able to find a bottle or two in the next day or so, but dont be surprised if your abundance shrinks a little.Yea, as smknjoe said, Weller 12 is still all around here. DSCOTT743
I'm in the Fort Myers area and W12 seems to come in waves at the local ABC stores. However, has ETL ever been common in FL? I haven't seen any since moving from Ohio in late January. As I said, FL stores didnt have bottles in the 100's but it was always there. I remember seeing it a month ago and quite a bit. P&MLiquorsEric
So you mean BT wasn't lying when they mentioned shortages? Chucks rolling black outs are the best way to describe it.
Quantum
Houston has built up a pretty solid buffer stock over the last few decades, in all types of stores scattered across the area. I think it could disappear from the high volume stores pretty quickly, but it would take a while to truly become hard to find. It might be hard to find a buy an entire case at once, but it would take an extended blackout to clear out all the stores with a couple bottles on the shelf. The Black Tot
Maybe Heaven Hill is just giving Texas one big, prolonged rolling blackout on ECBP... That's a good conspiracy
roncag
So Wellers is all over TX? I can barely sniff a bottle of it in VA. That being said, ETL, I can find all day long.
The Black Tot
Yep, roncag. Whether TX is God's country is up for debate - but it's certainly Weller country.
