Widow Jane?

Widow Jane has been seen at my local. It is a 7 year old that touts its spring water from New York which I would have to assume is water added to sourced whiskey. It is $58 before taxes on the shelf. My substantial gut is telling me to grab an EWBIB or OGDBIB and with the remaining $40 I would have left grab two more of the same. What do you think?

Whatinhell difference does that make? Watered down MGP Bourbon is still MGP Bourbon. I suggest you buy one bottle of Old Grand Dad 114 and spend the rest of the money on high end bottled waters. Alternate drinks using different waters and I doubt if you can tell any difference between them (I can't) but it will be a pleasant experience.

I've always half suspected lemon and lime flavors Perrier were designed for cocktail use. Wonder if the Widow Jane guys have thought of that.

I knew a guy who did that, keep the whisky in the freezer and Perrier in the fridge. Said he didn't like ice in a drink because you could choke on it. In a odd way that sorta made sense to me.

Widow Jane 7 is on "Special" where I am for $53 per 750. It's right next to the Rhetoric @ $95 and the Belle Meade @ $37. You'll find me over by the WT/BT/EW bottles.

The bonds are your best deal, but if you want to try some really good MGP/LDI bourbon, look for Smooth Ambler.

I saw a bottle of this a while back at my local bike shop (yes, they keep some beer and now some bourbon on hand for their better customers). Someone had brought it back from New York as a gift. If I recall correctly, it did say distilled in Kentucky. I could be wrong. I tried it and it was OK, but definitely not worth the "craft" price tag.

Thanks, Steve. As I recall (not looking at them right now), at least some of the bottles say something like distilled in Kentucky. The website, however, . . .

They do have great packaging, though. That wooden "cigar box" case with the good-looking sampler bottles is attractive. Judging from the quality of their advertising and their other products, I may actually try their own distillate when it comes out instead of sitting on the sidelines. RE: the price -- As Liza told us ad nauseum, "If you can make it there, . . ."

ASIDE: I still chuckle at your PS; I remember the conversation but not which thread it was on. Is still true today.
