Hey folks

I had, until recently, thought that Willett's single barrel release had a single unique identity based on barrel number. However, I've seen a couple of bourbon releases with different age statements, carrying the same barrel number. My logical conclusion is that they re-use barrel numbers, and the unique identity of a barrel is based of a combination of different factors, including at least (but not limited to) the barrel number and the age statement.

Is this true?

Yes. They do seem to reuse barrel numbers so you need to use the number and age or abv to make sure you are talking about the same barrel.

Check the "Premium Bourbons" forum below for a thread on this very subject. A member started a spreadsheet to catalog all of the WFE bottlings. You may have to look back a page or so to find it.
