squire
For me the term single barrel is a descriptor that means all the whisky in that bottle came from one barrel.
Enoch
From what I understand from Mike Veach, the term has no legal definition. You can dump several small amounts into a barrel then dump and bottle it as a single barrel.
squire
That's true, and if you stretch it all Straight Bourbon was initially aged in a single barrel. If they dumped the individual barrels into one big barrel (vat) then bottled the whole kit and kaboodle as 'single barrel' that's still more truthful than the spiels spun by some NDPs.However if we apply the legal principal of "what would a reasonable man think" I think most will agree 'single barrel' means all the contents in the bottle came from one individual barrel. B.B. Babington
years ago ER10 was a regular pour and seemed to my less educated palate to be consistent and consistently good. Not been as pleased last couple purchases, unless maybe my taste is changing. Think I need to sit and contemplate a whole liter to work through the problem? After a good rigorous wringing (probably from wifey) I should be well versed in the current ones. The do seem less consistent than in past. Not as inconsistent as EWSB.
