Any recommendations for a bar with a great whiskey list in Omaha? I'll be there Wednesday, with not much to do, and I figured this might just be a town with a nice list somewhere. Any suggestions would be much obliged.

Can't remember the name of the place but Paul knows the one I mean so perhaps he can chime in. We had a fairly detailed discussion about Omaha a few years back and our search function may find it.

If you are looking for a little culture prior to the bar, go to The Kaneko Museum. There's a retrospective exhibit on the architecture firm I work at (Olson Kundig Architects). It's free.

That's it, Dundee Dell. You'd think that name would be easy to remember but if you live long enough you'll forget all kinds of crap, even stuff you don't wanna.

I've never been there, read about the place in Malt Advocate quite a few years ago. I was shocked that the name actually popped into my head. They seem to have an amazing selection of single malts from the 60's / 70's. If I ever find myself in Omaha, I'll definitely pay them a visit.

I spent a pleasant lunch/afternoon there some years back (maybe 20) when brands like Edradour were considered a bit exotic. My take at the time was the place was a restaurant with a bar. Who knows what they have on hand now, hope Clay is on an expense account.

Alas, they're not covering liquor. But I've got dinner covered, which means more liquidity for the liquid.
