What bourbon are you drinking? Fall 2014

I have had bulleit rye, then finally opened a PHC 7 (really enjoyed the first pour, can tell it will open up nicely with some air). Now finishing up the night with a huge pour of standard Four Roses Single Barrel.

Birthday drinks. Thought about my OFBB, but instead.. '83 OGD BiB, 1984 Canadian Club Classic (initial release), '69 Old Taylor BiB.

Had some WTRB, MMCS, HHSS 2, OWA, W12, W12/OWA blend. MMCS is very similar to OWA to me, even the proof is similar. I get burnt sugar, brown sugar, light unriped peach on both. The W12 is much darker, woodier and deeper tasting than either. HHSS is easy to distinguish from everything else and simply better, more complex, deeper, cognac sweet grape taste. WTRB is a new discovery to me, sweet, caramel, woody, lots of sweet tobacco, leather notes and a yeasty funk on the nose. A great night!

Went to my garage bunker last night because I emptied quite a few opens on my bar over the weekend. Back behind a baby Saz, and a VOB 6 yr was an ETL. This bottle is just so sweet it's almost like and after dinner drink.

More VOB 6 yr tonight. I bought the family size this summer, while on vacation. Ive never seen it in Fl. I know it gets a fair amount of love here, but Im just not a huge fan. There is nothing wrong with it, but it just doesnt to it for me. I find it quite enjoyable in coffee, or a whisky sour. But it just doesnt quite work for me neat or on the rocks.
