Paul W
I hear you, but I had to use one of my free passes, and I expected more. It's $50 to get in the club usually, and they used to have brands in their well, I.e. JBW or something. And they want $11 for Woodford Reserve. [emoji53]I know. Last time I was in there I paid 11 for the Woodford and was resentful about that too.The days of decent free liquor in domestic airline lounges is over. Foreign airlines still have decent liquor for free, but UA DL and AA only serve swill.
squire
I usually say that it's always better to drink for free. This is testing that theory. The theory is still sound . . . what's being tested is your patience.
Tony Santana
Did a 50/50 ECBP/EC12 mix last night that was quite tasty. Then just a small pour of ER10 to finish the night off. Just a total butterscotch flavor, more so than I've ever gotten from it before, and I've polished off more than one bottle of ER10 in my day. Flyfish
"What are you drinking?" asked Mrs. F."Booker's" I said, raising my Glencairn."By yourself? squire
Find a cheap brand she doesn't favor and use the bottle to decant your Bookers. Marriage is widely viewed as a compromise so let's just say you're following protocol.

flahute
Mrs. flahute generally does not like bourbon, though she has been warming up to certain Four Roses products. That would be ideal for Fox since he doesn't like the Roses. As for me, I just need to make sure she doesn't develop a taste for the Limiteds. 393foureyedfox
Watching the grand jury decision come in sipping on some Buffalo Trace.what a clusterf@#k that is. everyone loses, and it will get worse no matter what. It looks like early reports show the officer being not guilty. Now there'll be more rioting, violence, etc....unless the case is obviously/clearly against the officer, I tend to side with them. They are put in impossible positions, and then judged by armchair quarterbacks afterward. unfortunately, we live in a world where people like to make it all about race, like it really matters.... LCWoody
Having some great 4R bourbon tonight. I was able to sit in on the barrel pick for this selection. What a great bourbon.
Richnimrod
Had a pour from a bottle of Old Scout 14 yr. 99-proof.I've had this one taking up space in the back of a closet shelf for a couple years, since I first opened it up. I decided if I'm gonna keep it, I should be drinking it at least once in a while. Once in a while is about all want to pour. It's almost too woody. Not quite bitter, but rather drying and oaky. Not exactly in my preference range, though I don't mind a good deal of barrel influence. This one almost goes too far. I wish I had a friend who liked 'em this way. I'd offer it up. Oh, well, we all must suffer through the hard times so we can really appreciate the good times, ....right? :slappin:
Vosgar
A nice pour of Rhetoric tonight. At first I wasn't overly impressed with this whiskey, but now the bottle is about half empty and I'm really enjoying it. Whether or not it's worth $80 may be debatable but have to say I'm glad I bought it
suntour
Ogd bib I've had open longer than usual, either it's really softened or its just hitting the spot in a dangerously drinkable way.

flahute
CEHT Small Batch. Not sure yet if this bottle is as good as I remember this from last year when I bought my first one of these. Seems thin and hot. It started to get a little better near the end of tonight's pour so perhaps the proverbial air time is starting to do it's thing. I'm hoping that's it and that it's not a quality slip. Now onto some '14 OFBB. Fantastic.
bin31z
Having some rare breed. I can't keep myself from coming back to this one. 35 bucks but I like better than almost anything that's open.
