Started the day with Bakers. I appear to be having an unusual day of olfactory clarity as I am getting so much more on the nose than usual and it's tasting much better than usual. I shall now appropriately be moving on to some turkey of the Rare Breed variety.

A very happy Thanksgiving to you all.

None, sadly, I am visiting family and they are a dry family, did manage to squeeze in some wine.

I hear ya, Thig. I'm on a dry ship.

Still thankful, though!

I am going to be having some high west mid winter, 14 ofbb, and phc8 to celebrate Thanksgiving and the birth of my new son. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Congratulations! My first one (girl) is due to arrive right before Christmas.

took a fresh bottle of HH6BIB to the in-laws. They all had white wine, I had my HH. I left the bottle so I can have a sip anytime we end up over there in the future. I love my in-laws, but their friend that always attends makes me want another drink...

A pour from a 'dusty' bottle of Wild Turkey 101 on Turkey Day. Very nice, and went well with the turkey dinner. Mellowed into the rest of day with family and friends here at the old homestead (and a few more pours of some nice Bourbon). ...A lot of work getting all prepared; but I had no driving anywhere and thus could enjoy all the food and drink without hazard or regret.

Small pour of 2014 GTS with a touch of water added. Followed up with a nice pour of the older version of WTR101.

Enjoying a pour of OldFitzBiB. Since I can't get my hands on WellerSR lately, it and Larceny have have become my go-to wheaters. OldFitzBiB has some spice to it though and minty.

I've moved on to some Old Scout 7y. I use to say that Evan Williams Vintage and Henry Mckenna BIB were the best values on the market, but I'm starting to change my mind about this OS 7y, I think it could be the best value on the market...just me.

Had side by side of WT Rare Breed 108.2 and a 2012 GTS. Drank them in a Glencairn with a splash of water. Dare I say that I preferred the Turkey? Maybe it is because it was Thanksgiving. The Rare Breed was $33 and the Stagg was $70. Hmmmmm? I guess I'm a cheap date.

After a 400 mile round trip Thanksgiving day (great time with family) heavy doses of WTRB were required in order to wind down.

So far today KCSB is doing the trick.

Started with some ORVW10/107, doing a blind sbs with the 2014 and 2011 vintages (which found them both to be incredibly similar; which was encouraging on the one hand - but noting that even the retail had doubled, I think I'm now done with all VW bourbons). To be fair - a very nice whiskey, just not worth the current retail (let alone what these things are fetching on the black market). I like it better than OWA 107, maybe even twice as much. But not three times as much.

Following these up with some GBS OESO since the bottle is a low fill, and will now be targeted.
