flahute
Just returned from a 4 day road trip down to Bend, OR for the annual Thanksgiving feast with friends. I only had what I brought with me which was 4R Small Batch, CEHT Small Batch, Baker's, and WTRB. My friends got a lot of enjoyment out of the CEHT SmB while I really came into a place of agreement with the Baker's. I brought down a 2/3 full bottle, the first 1/3 I had consumed over the past 4 months or so. Though I liked it, I had determined it to but just "OK" for the price. For whatever reason, it really tickled the right spot on the taste buds and now I'm thinking I should replace this bottle when done. The WTRB also held it's own.Now home, tonight I revisited ETL and damn if this isn't a beautiful and elegant pour. If I can load up on this, I don't need to bother with CEHT SmB.I'm capping off the night with some PHC8. I've enjoyed this from the get go, but tonight I nailed the water ratio. (Bottle air time may also be at play). It became such a smooth pour of buttered toffee that it upped it to another level. Liquid dessert. If I miss out on Van Winkle this year, I'll make do with the PHC8's I've scored.
JPBoston
A little late to the party, but had a healthy pour of ECBP at my favorite restaurant. I totally agree with the hype, at $45 a bottle (IIRC) this stuff is legit. Too bad it's not readily available in my area.Got the typical barrel proof "so sweet it almost makes you pucker" on the entry. Then the EC bitter wood on the finish. Kinda wish there was more rye spice in the mid, but maybe if I had more time with it, I'd "find" it. But the price as I remember is dead on, not quite as good as BTAC level releases at $70+ per bottle, but still definitely special.
kcgumbohead
Started out with some JD Single Barrel store select. Then some JD Holiday Select from last year. Now have a hefty pour of Maker's 46 ... gotta say this last one is not my style at all. Can't think of any other way to describe it besides a lot of "tobacco" in the flavor. Is this normal? Anyone else have thoughts? I'll preface with the fact I have kind of a cold, so my nose may not be working 100%.

393foureyedfox
not technically drinking it, but....the concept occurred to me the other day as I was thinking of what holiday candy treats to make this year, that I would take a jar of marachino cherries, dump out the sweet syrup, replace it with HHBIB, let it sit a week or so, then make dark chocolate covered bourbon cherries. How could this possibly go wrong?!
Hop
Poured a healthy glass of OWA to sip on a while

LCWoody
Having a side by side tonight. OFBB and HM 10y BIB. The OFBB this year is good (not as good as last years, but good. Glad I got one) but this HM (barrel #1464) I have open is very good. One of the best I've ever had of the HM 10y line.
