Had a great week at work this week, so starting off with PHC8 (126.8) with two ice cubes in a Canadian Glencairn. The ice really puts this into a nice place. I'm not getting any of the tannic notes that Sku observed, just a beautiful vanilla nose and a round, cool caramel taste. Mrs. EV is off at spin class, so I think I'll have another!

I just got my shipment of Canadian Glencairn glasses based on recommendations from this board. I will be trying the PHC8 this weekend in one.

met Mrs Fox and some of her (now) ex-coworkers for drinks this evening, as it was her last day before the new job on Monday. I pored over the bourbon selections at the Mexican restaurant and nothing sounded interesting enough to order. I then spied the HH6/90 on the bottom BOTTOM shelf (ankle height) and asked for that. He looked at me kinda odd as he grabbed the very dusty bottle and poured it. That place has been open for 20 years or so and I wouldnt be surprised if that bottle had been there since day one. What can I say.....I know what I like, especiall when the other choices are JD, WR, EWB and Crown.

Brother, I bought a HH BIB 6-Yr today for $9.34 and thought about you! I only bought one bottle because I had a long list of bottles to buy on sale. But, I couldn't pass the chance to buy one on the cheap.

I am drinking OWA tonight. I found a replacement today so I can freely enjoy a pour or two. I think the last few bottles of OWA have been really good. It was down for a while but has been better recently.

It is one of those blind tasters that you always talk about. I can pick it out from other common favorites and I don't always keep it in stock but it is good in its own right. I don't think I would have ever given it a second thought if not for SB.com. Of course, we really only started getting it in Indy over the last few years. Before that we had to cross the river.

Amazing evening! By chance I mentioned "bourbon" at the annual Holliday Party and found several co-worker's eyes light up. They joined me for a taste of EC 12 and I found my new best friends.

Thank you EC 12.

...and for a not so value-packed pour but a delicious one all the same...

EH Taylor BP 129.0 proof batch. It is scrumptious, and so much different than a say ECBP. Just so smooth with a seamless and nearly non-existent oak character. This one's all about the harmonious, sweet flavors.

$9.34?!? is that the regular price for it, or was it some kinda sale? It's $10.49-12.00 here, and I thought that was rediculously cheap. Even with two plus cases of it in the basement already, Id clear the shelves again at that price, though Mrs Fox would think I lost my other brain cell at the sight of that happening.

Im about to pour some Booker's and wind down. This is my weekend to work....ick
