'13 OF Birthday Bourbon

Me too. And then a little Rhetoric. Down to my last pour of the OFBB, with one more in the bunker.

Last night it was OGD86. I have read some folks posting that they like OGD114 only, or that they like OGD114 and Bib, but not the other stuff. Personally, however, I find the OGD86 to be very nice to drink straight over an ice cube.

I also saw someone on the "regret" thread say that the found Bullit to be undrinkable. So I tried my bottle again. Still not my favorite by a long shot, but not really "bad" in any sense as far as I can see. This one may illustrate the "all bourbon is at least OK (except JBDC)" principle.

Starting off the evening with a sample of Booker's 2013-7 other roundtable. Neat. Very pleasantly surprised. Much like B25th, but with less heat. Next up, Abraham Bowman Double Barrel.

Started the evening off with an EC-12 that struck me as overly woody. Moved on to Jeffersons Very Old, Very Small Batch that I have really come to appreciate. Finishing off with a very tasty pour of Dickel 14.

Some more EC12 tonight. Forcing myself to finish some bottles before opening anything new.

just home from work and preparing to enjoy a 5 day weekend of tinkering with cars and having fun with Mrs Fox.

Enjoying a SBS of KCSB and Bookers 2013-7. The Booker's wins, as I pick up more on the differences now than a year ago. The Booker's is noticeably 'hotter', but also has a better finish. I also dont think this current KCSB is as good as the case of 'em I bought last year either though

Still suffering from this cold I picked up Friday last week and still not smelling much so I'm still stuck on OFS and HH BIB gold label. Not that it's bad to be stuck on those two, they are very fine bourbons.

Celebrating my 5000th anniversary with a pour of VB17 and an Ave Maria Reconquista cigar. A true power couple.

Old Charter 8 Year Age Stated. Wasn't sure about this at first at only 80 proof, but I really enjoyed it. Will have to go buy a few more bottles, before the NAS version takes over the shelf.

CEHT SmB and Larceny all week. The Taylor is ok, but will never be a regular pour as there are too many others at a better price point.

The Larceny is another story... :D

Between this release, EC 12, EWSB, PHC, HHSS, HMc BIB and ECBP (and keeping it all at a fair price point).... HH just may be my distillery of the year!

MM Cask Strength. Got my team in NYC together for a quick taste. Half the bottle disappeared. Quick first impression: loved it. Great mouthfeel. Sweet. Nice blend of heat and wood and maple syrup notes. Will try to do a SBS with M46 over the weekend. Will post notes.

I would catch this once in awhile a few years ago in MN. I really liked it. Long gone here though.

Started off the night with a small pour of Four Roses Small Batch. Tasty as always, but I could tell I wasn't really in the mood for bourbon. Switching things up a bit after this . . .

I like this one. Rich. Nice finish. One of the better of the series.

FRSmB while watching the Ken Burns series on Prohibition. This bourbon is really incredible for the price. I think it has the best mouthfeel of any mid-shelfer
