clingman71
OSU game pours: EW23, BT single oak #10, ETL Comm, and an inadvertent flask blend - 80% Gallenstein OWA #12 + 20% Old Rip squat, a delicious flask batting!
jersey12
Had a blind tasting of the 3 bourbons that I currently have at my parents' house; EC12, 2013 Lot B, and 2014 ER17. While it was extremely easy pick out the EC12 out of this bunch as being the least pleasing, I really enjoyed both of the other pours and waffled on which one I preferred. Both had a noticeably sweet nose, syrupy mouthfeel and a smooth, lingering finish. I ultimately chose what turned out to be the ER17 as my favorite. With all the hype and effort people put into getting these limited releases, it's nice to be reminded that the actual whiskey is really fantastic. I need to do these blind tastings more often. dmarkle
Had a WFE "Leaves of Grass" at a fancypants cocktail bar in DC. 12 years old. Tasted like a barrel-proof wheater perhaps? Damn good stuff.
dcbt
Enjoyed some ER17 and ER10 while watching a little college football last night - the WV coach did not enjoy the 'horns taking it to his team:
TunnelTiger
Some OFSig in me coffee. What a fantastic day of college football yesterday! Great games all day long from coast to coast and I enjoyed all sipping SB blend.
Mardbrown
Last night, I started off with a small taste of OWA. Went out to dinner with the Mrs. and to my disbelief the restaurant had a whisky selection of 150+. I ended up going with a Smooth Ambler 7 Rye. First time, I have had one of their products and I was impressed. Once I got back home things got hairy. I poured some EC12 and when I woke up this morning, it was still sitting next to me. Must have been tired, but man I hate wasting my whisky.
fishnbowljoe
I was up and at 'em early this morning. I fixed breakfast, did the dishes and then started a load of laundry. After that, I kicked back with a second cup of coffee and a pour of OWA on the side. Not a bad morning at all.
GaryT
Had a ton of great pours last night with some fellow SBers (thanks again Bill for having us!) On the bourbon side - one of my favs was the Whiskey Jewbilee HH 15yr old.
flahute
Last night I was out at a restaurant and ordered a 4R Small Batch, but they were out, so they gave me a Blanton's for the 4R price of $9. Upon returning home, I "drank" a HH BIB gold label.......in the form of a fantastic piece of pecan pie my wife made that called for bourbon as one of the ingredients in the filling. Yum! El Vino
PHC8 with an ice cube is a tough act to follow. THH 2011 is what I picked. My hand keeps reaching for the barrel proof whiskies. I don't think I have an 80 proofer on the bar or in the bunker. Now, just need to figure out to get a bottle of 2014 Stagg in NJ. I got the 2011 Handy when you could still find them on the shelves for retail.

393foureyedfox
it's recycling night and the KCSB was the lowest, so I had a fatty of that. three 13+ hour days in a row, and I could use it....
Quintilian
Enjoying some EWSB'04. Compared to other bottles I've had, this one has stronger oak overtones. Not off-putting but very woody.
