What bourbon are you drinking? Fall 2014

next to the last pour of HMckBIB tonight. Still cant make up my mind on this one. It was a store select and tastes more like WT101 than a HH product, and seeing that WT101 is less than 2/3 the cost, I think Id just grab a WT101 instead.

My opens, after I polish off the MckBIB, are HH6/90, HH6BIB, OE101, Bookers, and Dickel 9.....and I think Ive come to the conclusion that Im fine with having just those 5.

Standard BT and Early Times last evening. Slipped the Early Times in between pours of BT and it didn't hurt a bit. Sure had been a long time...

Working on a generous pour of Baker's tonight and it does not appear that some time away/air time has been kind to this little jewel. Maybe my buds just need some re-acclimation to the Beam funk. :crazy:

Had a little of this year's CEHT BP earlier. This one is growing on me, though the finish is a little odd. Can't quite put my finger on it. I guess this will require some more investigation. For science and all.

OWA. After all of the $50-100+ bourbons I've had lately, amazing how good this $20 bottle is.

This one just doesn't work for me. I'm jealous of you guys that love this one because it can be found for so cheap compared to so many.

Nothing at all, except that my stereo has been packed away in a storage unit along with the rest of everything that was in the living room, dining room, and kitchen while we undergo the total kitchen renovation.

Mrs. Kalessin gave me quite the look when I insisted the cabinet bar at the end of the living room not be moved (it's a custom-built piece from 1954 or so, and IMHO a bit delicate), but I wouldn't be emptying all the bottles and glasses out of it, either.

I still have three unopened bottles of V17, and this mostly full bottle. But boy do I wish that I had bought the other 3 or 4 bottles that I passed up a couple of years ago at like $60. Just a great bourbon.

I hope your OWA is as good as my last one. For a while, OWA was astringent and had a strong alcohol aftertaste. The most recent bottle was/is excellent!

Been a long week and now the weather has turned cold, so I am enjoy a nice pour of Crown Liquor's PS FR OESF. Nice and minty!

I'm thinking the '12 is a clear winner so far. The '14 is no slouch though, so I'm happy to have it. It could be that the '12 has been open for a while whereas my '14 was only opened last night. I'm also cognizant of that fact that the '14 has been getting lackluster reviews, but I certainly wouldn't recommend passing on it if you have the chance at it.

Thanks for the feedback. I've got one, but just haven't opened it yet. It is pretty cold outside now though isn't it? :grin:
