For Ohio State games I was considering OYO Bourbon. Any of you Buckeyes ever tried it? Something you can enjoy when they are winning or only fit as a complement to awful days (rare) when they are losing?

Started out with some JD Single Barrel store select. Then some JD Holiday Select from last year. Now have a hefty pour of Maker's 46 ... gotta say this last one is not my style at all. Can't think of any other way to describe it besides a lot of "tobacco" in the flavor. Is this normal? Anyone else have thoughts? I'll preface with the fact I have kind of a cold, so my nose may not be working 100%.

VOB BIB AS in my coffee this morning. Then a quick comparison between a FR PS OBSO vs. the same OBSO vatted 1:1 with FRYL. The au natural OBSO was the clear winner.

Yesterday and today I've almost consumed a bottle of OFSig. For $19.99 it can't be beat. Well WT101 @ $19.99 is pretty damn fine too.

I haven't had any alcohol for the past few days. My 6 year old niece came to visit. My kids are high school and college age. I wanted to spend time with her...movies, shopping, playing games, etc. , so I abstained. She went home. I am now enjoying a pour of ECBP 132.4 with a touch of water to get it down around 110 proof. If this isn't the best bargain in whiskeyland, I am not sure what is. Now, do I have another or switch gears....decisions, decisions...:grin:

Store select OBSO for me. Fruity, spicy and nicely balanced. This one tops out at only 106 proof and is really spot on popped and poured neat.

Eagle Rare 10, and an Eagle Rare 10 store select. Doing a comparison between off the rack and a store select. The store select seems a bit "better", but both are good. The store select has a bit more cinnamon, and effervescence on the palate. So I may pick a few more bottles of the store select to enjoy in future years.

Finally got a hold of some 2014 GTS. Initial thoughts are pretty simple. Bigger bolder and richer than last years. Can't wait for a revisit in a few days.
