I know there are a lot of us Bourbon & whiskey nuts living up here in Minnesota. Thought I'd pass along news that a new, Minnesota-based, world-class whiskey event is in the works..."Whiskey On Ice". The event will take place on April 12, 2015 at the historic Depot in downtown Minneapolis. Plans call for at least 70 distilleries to be on-hand to present their wares. As of today, over 40 have committed...and the word only went out this week. We will offer 150 VIP and 350 General Admission tickets. Prior to the start of the Grand Tasting, we are hosting four Whiskey Masterclass tasting seminars. Each Masterclass is limited to the first 50 paid registrants. All four Masterclasses have already been committed to by distillers...we're waiting on confirmation of their seminar topics and pour lists before we announce them.

Every attendee will receive a tote bag, pen & tasting book and Glencairn tasting glass. Throughout the evening of the Grand Tasting attendees will have the opportunity to sample nearly 300 whiskeys. Complimentary water and food stations will be situated throughout the venue. We will also have a outdoor cigar bar for those so inclined to enjoy a smoke during the tasting.

The website is nearly complete, and will launch in October. We have a Facebook Group Page (Whiskey On Ice MN), and I'd appreciate your checking it out...and "Like" it. Should you have any questions, or want to be added to our mailing list, please feel free to email me at whiskeyonicemn@gmail.com.

Thanks...and hope to see you in Minneapolis on April 12th!

Yes, something of interest! I will defiantly be in on this event!!

Only problem I see is that "Whiskey on Ice" may not be a good name for an event in the middle of April. Heck all the ice and snow may be gone by then...well hopefully, if we don't have a winter like last year. Feb. may be a better month to have a "Whiskey on Ice" event. A name with something having spring in the name may be a better title for such a grand event.

Either way, I am totally in, VIP all the way.

Me neither!

Am seriously considering a Kickstarter offering to help generate support/commitment. That would include discounts on tickets. What do you think...it that something of interest?

Plus it would be nice to have a mini SB gathering there to see the faces. I remember you were thinking about doing a "get together" years ago, but this is so much better.

The whole idea for an April event is to be close enough to season, but not have to deal with a lot of snow. The name fits because the venue is "the shed" at The Depot. It's really a large skating rink that'll be covered for the event; hence the name.
