Weller 12 for $89 at one store and for $125 at another.

Wow just wow although at least you are seeing some. Been close to a year since any here but OWA and OSR is readily available.

Hirsch 25 and 28 yr bourbon, private selection OESK for $56, HWMWND 2.1, and a 6 yr age stated James E. Pepper. Also lots of other things, but those were the outliers.

I saw Bib & Tucker yesterday. It's an interesting package, but the label doesn't really give any information. I can't recall the exact price. I'm sure too much for mystery juice. I also saw another NDP product, Buck 6 year old 90 proof @ $32.

Buck 6 year old 90 proof @ $32.

That's the honey hole where they get you. $32 doesn't seem too high for a 90 proof 6 yr old bourbon until you realize the big boys on the bottom shelf actually have something better for $10.99.

Buck started at 8 years old. They must have supply issues and lowered the age, or this is another product.

Although I'm thankful to have the choices available, I passed on Forester SB and JB SB today. Also passed on HWRRye and the other assorted cats and dogs mentioned above.

I did break down and pick up a bottle of BT's non-bourbon bourbon creme. That should spice the coffee up a little.

FR OESK 10 year for $70. I don’t know what happened, but Astor's in NY used to be so reliable for competitive pricing.

Welcome to the new normal! We're at mid to high $60's here with the new selections.

Passed on a bunch of Lost Prophet at 130. Any marylanders interested in the location just pm me.

I just passed on it today for $115. I'm done paying $100+ for mystery juice like this and Willet

There are lots of problems with Diageo and the Orphan Barrel bottlings but they aren't as mysterious as a lot of NDP bottlings. We know the distillery they were made in, approximately when they were made and where they were aged because Diageo told us. Even the mashbill is more or less known.

Which is a lot more than we know about a lot of the NDP offerings which admit to nothing (even if we already know that 99% of it came from MGPI!).

Agreed, one thing the orphan barrels are not is mystery juice. Now they may be overpriced today but in a year or so most of us will wish we had picked up more when we could.

I saw a lonely bottle of W12 behind a counter today next to 3 bottles of WSR. I asked how much the W12 was and was greeted with a very cheery "only $69.99 and that's a good price since it won't be here again until next year." Considering I bought a bottle last week for $26.99 about 20 miles away my face must have given away my disgust because she followed up with "and the regular Weller is only 39.99."

Thanks but no thanks!

Glad to hear you were able to score one at a reasonable price. It wasn't that long ago that I was buying Weller 12 for under $25, so these prices seem extraordinarily extortionate to me.

Passed in the PVW 23yr at the hotel bar. Asked the barkeep for the price, $80, was $50 two years ago.

Dam inflation!

Passed on two standard ETL's today priced at $69.95. But the same store had Weller 12y (750) for 22.10 so I picked one of them up.

That is really strange. Locally W12 is now $40 while ETL can still be had for $26. The ETL allocations are still pretty tight though.

That's because they are taking advantage of the demand. It's $22 around here when it's on shelves.
