393foureyedfox
Saw these Willett 6 and 8 year ryes, maybe 6 bottles of each. This picture is from 2 weeks ago, yesterday they were all gone. I have a feeling since they sat a while and then disappeared, one person may have bought all of them. Jason

whiskeyscope
Also passed on all the Willetts at the gift shop today. The ones I have from a Binny's selection back in 2012 were great especially for the price points. But this is crazy. And I even passed on the Four Roses gift shop PS bottles. That hurt because I'm sure they're good, but it's now too rich for my blood.
GaryT
Passed up a bunch of Orphan Barrels (I think the complete line-up?), and some older WT80.

El Vino
I saw a Charbay R5 on the shelf for the first time in Indy. I'm debating whether to go back for it.Bought a bottle of this and a six pack of the Racer 5 IPA. Beer way better than whiskey. Did a boiler maker with my son and it was good for the novelty. I saw a bottle on the shelf in the mid $30's and passed. Perhaps it would be better with more barrel age, but I have my doubts.

whiskeyscope
how much were the 4R gift shop bottles? Were any aged beyond the normal 9-11 year range?thx$72. They had several recipes and lots of each, all in that 9-11 year range. But for $60 I can get some well-picked barrels back home.

Going to pick up one for sure.

393foureyedfox
tried a sample of HW double rye today at the liquor barn. I mulled it over for quite a while, and though it was good, the 92 proof was its weak spot to me, though still decent for $35. ultimately I passed though in favor of barrel proof rye and bourbons from Old Scout.also easily passed and rolled my eyes at the 8 year WFE rye for $115, over twice what I paid for the OS at nearly the same age, and same source most likely. There were store select 4R barrel proofs there too, though I didnt look to see what recipe. I was curious just about the price, as you guys have been talking increases lately.....it was on sale for $60Bookers has topped the $50 mark at $52, but I still know some stores where I can get it for mid $40's
kjbeggs
Passed on Straight Edge, and Booker's 2014-6, which I think is a Roundtable selection. Almost grabbed one, but I was spending enough already, and they had several bottles.
tanstaafl2
A few handles of a pretty decent store pick of OWA if anyone in the local area is looking. Got some of the bottles from there barrel as 1.75's instead of 750's by mistake I am told. Works out to about $23.56 for a 750 which is a pretty decent price for OWA these days. The Boozer
4R barrel proof OESK. @ $65 seemed a bit high. Already have a bottle and wasn't impressed enough to pull the trigger.
Paul W
ECBP $69.99W12 $59.99Entire 2014 BTAC collection $399 eachDifferent places than I reported on last time.On the one hand, I am glad the ECBP and W12 are available. On the other hand, these are very upper end of reasonable in terms of price. The BTAC is just plain gouge pricing, but still cheaper than the place down the road in the same town that has them all for $499 each.

Someone on the board can correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think W12 has any distribution in NJ. At least that's what I've heard and I've never seen it in NJ despite seeing other Weller products around from time to time.
