Mr. Bourbon
A short review of the exported of the JBB 6 year version, Not the 8 year or the NAS. Quite a bit better than the white label JB. The 6 year is a bit more complex and has a lot more flavor on the palate. And I actually like this better than the regular Makers Mark, Which is aged between 6 to 8 years (The only decent bourbon around here are is Makers Mark.) I'm getting some vanilla, spice, oak and has a superb mouth feel. Very warm and the after tastes is fantastic. I can even taste it several minutes after sipping. A very straightforward bourbon just like the white, But it stands must stronger on the nose and palate. I prefer the regular JBB to the Devils Cut. The Devils Cut just tastes like wood, And not much else. The 8 year JBB would be even better, But I will never get my hands on that. I know this is just a short basic review, And I know a lot of people don't like Jim Beam. But for the price of this I don't expect an amazing bourbon. It's good, And tasty enough to sip! Has anyone else tried the 6 year? Edited September 29, 2014 by Mr. Bourbon
amg
I love that the 8 year is "double aged", but the export 6 year is "triple aged"!
squire
No, I haven't tried it but like Beam so probably will in the future. Good notes.
Mr. Bourbon
I love that the 8 year is "double aged", but the export 6 year is "triple aged"!Silly isn't it? It should just say 8 year or 6 year without that weird statement on the label.
Harry in WashDC
Thx, Mr. B. The 8 yr. 1.75liter size has been popping up around me on sale ($2-5 off depending on the store). IF it becomes rare or IF the 6 pops up, I won't ignore the 6.
