bin31z
Finalizing a list of bourbons that I'm going to have purchased for me or going to be purchased by me in Asia with dollar amounts per bottle. Let me know if you guys think I should get more of any item or less or any additional suggestions. I'm torn between trying to find more "collectible" bottles that were released but sold out in US vs picking up more stuff not available in US due to market restrictions. There seems to be markup over US msrp on those premium bottles from US while JDM bottlings are relatively cheap. I'm trying to stay under $1000 in total. I'm bring 2 suitcases so should be able to carry about 18 bottles max. I brought 9 in 1 suitcase last time. 1. 2 x Wild Turkey 12 yr - $50 2. 2 x Wild Turkey 13 yr - $603. 2 x Wild Turkey 8 yr - $294. 3 x Blanton's STFB - $505. 1 x Four Roses Platinum - $756. 1 x OFBB 2012 - $707. 1 x Four Roses LE 2012 SiB - $1128. 3-4 x Fred Noe Select - $

Oboe Cadobro
Very Olde St. Nick is distributed only in Japan...the juice used to be SW but is now from HH and is available in quite a few age statements, but the older the better. The 17 and 20 year old are very good, and the 25 is excellent if you want to drop the coin...
bin31z
I saw some offering from that brand but no age statement stuff. Will have to keep my eyes peeled. kickert
I don't know anything about the Fred Noe select, but you are giving it some significant allocation, so I must be missing something. You can't go wrong with the older Turkey's and the Blanton's SFTB. I have had some of the VOSN, and it is excellent -- especially the older offerings. I am usually not a fan of anything 20 years or older, but it is well worth seeking out.
wildrnesxperienc
Sku and LAWS have some notes about VOSN posted from 2 different Southern CA Whiskey Club tastings. And I agree on the Blanton's SFTB, can't go wrong. LAWS, search the site-http://www.lawhiskeysociety.com/index.phpSKU-http://recenteats.blogspot.ca/search?q=Very+olde+st+nick
wildrnesxperienc
Also, you're going to have to pay a lot of duty on that many bottles I would imagine. But if you've done it before I'm sure you know.

wildrnesxperienc
Hehe, I hear you. Risky business tho, if they were to find out I think they can confiscate it and also fine you. But good luck, I wouldn't want to declare it either.
bin31z
Well they are pretty relaxed most of the time. I explained that's it's for personal consumption and collection and not for resell. That's the only thing they really worried about. I guess worst case scenario I declare them at 10 bucks a bottle, what do they know, it is wild turkey [emoji51]
kickert
Without making any statements about declaration, I can say that I have never been stopped while walking through the "Nothing to Declare" line.
WhiskyRI
Personally I always declare when returning from overseas. I also declare actual value since I usually have the receipts. I've never been asked to pay after I answer it is all for personal use. They always waive me through like it's too much trouble to fill out the paperwork.
