BTAC '14 in Michigan

Well, the day has come. I picked up a couple of George T. Staggs yesterday in Michigan.

Unfortunately no Larue in the shipment to my retailer...Booooo!! He did have a few other things... A single bottle of Eagle Rare which I left for some one who craves that (I do not).

So, get out there, and let the fun begin!

While it's hard to keep anything quiet with social media and internet, I'd suggest keeping stuff like this in the "non public" area. Might give you a few minutes to get to your holes first.

I enjoy the bourbon.

I tolerate the hunt. To the extent that I am willing to drive to three or so stores.

Plus some miscellaneous goodies - Baby Saz, Stagg Jr.

Retail for all.

1 stagg 1 ER17 and 1 Handy for me. Paid a couple extra bucks over state min on 2 of 3 but it wasn't ridiculous.

Just tired of paying well over $100 for these bottles.

I went to a handful of stores last night, one clearly had some bu said they were on reserve for steady customers. One store said they weren't going to get any but did have a PHC Wheat whiskey and offered it to me at the state price. So I took one home.

I'v only had PHC 1 and 4, both speak for themselves. Looking forward to a comparison someday soon. (Thanks Judy Collins.)

Same here. Walked into a store in Novi yesterday and they had three bottles of Stagg. He wanted my bidding to start at over $400. Ridiculous.

My store had a Stagg waiting for me. Much appreciated. My first bottle. All they got were three bottles of Stagg and no other BTAC. He thought he was getting Handy, but it wasn't on the delivery. Seemed like shady stuff might be going on.

I think it's just more of the same. Lower allocations all around. Possibly the distributors trying to please more accounts by spreading it thinner but wider?

Yeah, I was told basically the same number of bottles coming to the state, but more accounts wanting more of it. 5 years ago, they'd get a case worth of Stagg and it would sit for a long while.

I got into Bourbon way too late!
