I am trying to track down a bottle of Old Grand-dad Bicentennial to give to my dad for Christmas. He bought one for me when I was born and we drank it when I turned 21. His best friend bought one for his son and didn't make it to drink it with him. That bottle was lost through the aftermath of his passing and the multiple moves that the family undertook. I've checked these forums and have been watching Craigslist, but haven't seen one.

My empty is being used to decant my current daily drinker (Larceny) and my father comments every time he sees it that he would like to find another so we can go drink it with the son.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

The bottles show up quite regularly on ebay. As for a full one, the only full oneI have ever seen is in a small store in Clinton, SC but the owner refuses to sell it. (He also has nearly every Jack Daniels decanters from at least the early 70s.) He plans to sell them all along with the store when he decides to retire.

I find that, sometimes, if you really want something and offer a crazy amount for it, a shopkeeper might just change his mind. Or, give him the backstory and go for the heartstrings. It can't hurt.

I also realize that you are probably in different parts of the country.

I would also consider just finding some OGD from that era and decant into the bicentennial bottle. Not quite the same, but it ought to be the same juice.

I have this exact bottle, unopened tax stamp still intact, with the neck tag. I also have the original gift box that came with it. I might be willing to trade.

I can take pics or whatever also. Let me know
