t44tq
I forgot to add some new content to the thread.Smooth Ambler Yearling- I thought this stuff tasted too young, rather terrible. I'm glad I only paid $20 for the half-bottle, otherwise I would be really pissed.Balcones Single Malt- This stuff also tasted somewhat young and definitely not my thing. I'm glad I didn't open my bottle (tried an open bottle), so I can get rid of it if I want to.

jakerthesnaker79
Mine would have to be the Woodford Reserve Master's Collection. I just wish I could go back and stop that purchase, and to think that I was really looking forward to it, just didn't pan out for me...

weller_tex
I regret ever buying any of Jack Daniel's brand whiskies. I'm sorry, Tennessee whiskey fans. I just don't enjoy the flavor.
flahute
I was in Sweden a few years ago and the only American whiskey they had at the Systembolaget was JD. I had some Jack and Cokes back in the 80's back when JD was decent stuff..but OMG drinking that stuff straight was horrendous and ice didn't help. All you can taste was some sort of artificial banana flavoring. I poured it down the drain.. JBW is 100 times better.
smokinjoe
...I found JBW and it was an oasis in the desert. I was so happy to find actual bourbon that I had two pours and legitimately enjoyed it.Every bourbon enthusiast should keep these words close at hand, as a reminder to ourselves to not become too jaded. pellidon
WT Rye. I knew better from my time here but it was on sale. It is bland. I have Rittenhouse, High West, Russels Reserve to compare it to so my bland description has some background. Now I have a better hand on whose reviews match my taste buds and will try to do better. TunnelTiger
The 81 or the 101? I wouldn't drink the 81 if it was a gift. WT101 however is whole different story and while different I enjoy it as much as RITTBIB.

My bottle of Russell's Reserve single barrel will probably be one of the last men standing on my shelf.
flahute
By far the bottle I regret most is this dang Michter's Toasted Barrel. I actually broke my boycott of their products to buy this one due to a number of positive reviews from some other local enthusiasts. I figured, "hey, these guys are as nerdy as me about bourbon so they must be onto something". Nope. Turns out you shouldn't make purchasing decisions based on someone else's tastes unless you truly know if you can trust their palate. I didn't know these guys well enough. Lesson learned.I may actually pour this one down the drain.
