Ninety Decades of Richness 20 year Canadian Rye Whisky

Finally this made it to the shelves of a LCBO near me. Says rye on the label...but is 100% corn. Tastes bolder and spicier that one would think a 20year Canadian corn whisky would taste. The proof is also 90...10 points higher than most. Has that full creamy mouth feel while sipping it. Sweet, oaky, pepper/baking spices all wrapped up nicely. Last night after sipping on this, had CC 100% rye afterwards...to get a feel of 2 different grains, different proofs, and different ages.

Century Reserve 21yr is one I never pulled the trigger on. The 15-25 I enjoyed but it may be a bit too woody. I think marketing this at 90 proof (or I guess the couldn't call it 90 lol) was a good play.

Now I'm curious, but afraid that, like my friend zunak from another message board, I will be disappointed (again at another weak Canadian offering) if I spend the 50 bucks.

I guess it depends what you're looking for in a Canadian whisky. To me, this tastes exactly as I'd hoped, based on my experiences with other well-aged Canadians. Flavour profile is similar to Century Reserve 21 but with much more depth and richness. The extra proof seems to have helped.
